Gum side teeth

Gum side teeth

Everyone has the chance of growing wisdom teeth, and wisdom teeth are usually a type of tooth that appears after the age of 16. Since normal teeth occupy most of the oral cavity, the position of wisdom teeth in most people grows in a strange way. For some people, the gums grow on the side of the gums, which seriously affects the aesthetics of the oral cavity. So how should we solve the problem of wisdom teeth growing on the side of the gums?

1. Maintain good oral hygiene. After new teeth grow on the gums, patients should pay attention to maintaining oral hygiene to reduce the chance of tooth inflammation. In general, patients should brush their teeth frequently, rinse their mouths after meals, remember to change their toothbrushes, pay attention to cleaning the gaps between teeth when brushing their teeth, and go to the hospital regularly for comprehensive oral cleaning to ensure oral hygiene.

2. Determine the growth of wisdom teeth. After a tooth grows on the gums, the patient should immediately go to the dental department for treatment so that the doctor can examine the specific position and growth direction of the tooth in detail and determine whether the wisdom tooth will affect other teeth. Only then can the doctor make the most suitable treatment plan based on the patient's condition. After some patients discover their new teeth, they do not seek medical attention because they do not experience any discomfort. This is actually not advisable because many problems cannot be seen in the early stages of tooth growth and can only be discovered through the professional judgment of a doctor.

3. Take medication or have a tooth extracted. If the patient's teeth and periodontal tissues have already developed inflammation, pain, swelling or other discomfort symptoms, then anti-inflammatory drugs should be taken immediately. If the patient's problem is more serious, then he needs to go to the hospital to extract the tooth, so that the problem can be completely solved, otherwise the inflammation will only recur.

After understanding the above content, patients can take correct countermeasures according to their own situation, so as to minimize the damage caused by wisdom teeth. It should be noted that if the patient has taken measures to extract teeth, he must follow the doctor's instructions after the extraction to ensure that the gums recover as soon as possible. If the patient does not take proper care after tooth extraction, new inflammation may occur.
