The dangers of varicose veins

The dangers of varicose veins

With the development of economic life, people's occupations have become diverse. However, many occupations can also cause occupational diseases. Take people who stand for a long time, and white-collar workers who sit in the office all day. These long periods of sitting and standing may cause varicose veins, because long periods of sitting and standing can easily compress the superficial veins. People who are too obese may have poor venous return in the legs. Therefore, some abnormal things may trigger the onset of the disease.

Varicose veins can cause edema of the feet, and the body will feel uncomfortable and painful. Both young and old people may suffer from this disease. In daily life, we should focus on prevention and guard against the arrival of the disease. Let’s take a look at the dangers that varicose veins can bring.

Varicose veins refer to the tortuosity and dilation of veins due to factors such as blood stasis and weak venous walls. Varicose veins can occur in many parts of the body. For example, hemorrhoids are actually a type of varicose veins. Other clinically visible varicose veins include esophageal varicose veins, varicocele, abdominal wall varicose veins, etc. The most common site of varicose veins is the lower extremities. It is worth emphasizing that varicose veins themselves may be a secondary manifestation of other lesions, such as vena cava occlusion, and the primary disease should be actively treated.

Varicose veins are the most common disease of the venous system. The main cause is that the blood vessel wall is congenitally weak or the same posture is maintained for a long time with little change, and blood accumulates in the lower limbs. Over time, the venous valves are damaged and the venous pressure is too high, which is a symptom of blood vessels protruding from the skin surface. Its characteristic is that the blood vessels protrude from the surface of the skin, like earthworms, winding and bumpy.

Varicose veins should not be underestimated. For people who need to stand or sit for long periods of time, they should exercise their muscles and bones regularly when they have time. This is also beneficial to the flexibility of the legs and arms. However, women should also do appropriate muscle-strengthening activities during pregnancy and menstruation, and adequate rest is also necessary. Exercise and rest are not contradictory. It is right to combine the two.
