How to treat foot gout? Traditional Chinese medicine has methods for treatment

Gout is a relatively common joint disease. When gout attacks, symptoms such as redness, swelling, and pain appear in the joints. Gout is more common in middle-aged and elderly people because their physical fitness declines and their ability to regulate physiological balance in the body declines. So what are the methods for treating foot gout?

1. Traditional Chinese Medicine

1: We can treat gouty arthritis through traditional Chinese medicine. The specific prescriptions include: Jiawei Simiao Powder, which consists of: 10g of Atractylodes macrocephala, 10g of Phellodendron chinense, 10g of Rhizoma Cynoglossi, 30g of Coix seed, 20g of Smilax glabra, 20g of Lonicera japonica, 20g of Radix Dipterocarpa, 10g of Cortex Qinpi, 20g of Radix Clematis, 15g of White Peony Root, 10g of Silkworm Excrement, 10g of Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 10g of Radix Angelicae Sinensis, and 15g of Polygonum cuspidatum. If the heat toxicity is severe, add Cortex Moutan, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, and Gypsum Fibrosum.

2. Acupuncture

1: Traditional Chinese medicine also uses acupuncture therapy, which is common and has a good effect on gouty arthritis. Experts suggest: acupuncture therapy should be used after bloodletting. The specific acupoints used are Baihui, Shenting, Quchi, Hegu, Shenmen, Zusanli, Taichong, Fenglong, Neiting, Yinlingquan and Ashi points. The purpose of the filiform needle drainage method is to clear away heat and dampness, unblock menstruation and relieve pain. The treatment is once a day, and a course of treatment is 5 times.

Three: Foot bath

1: 150g Trillium, 6 centipedes, 120g Gleditsia sinensis, 100g each of Scrophularia ningpoensis and Honeysuckle. Put the above medicines into a pot and add appropriate amount of water. Boil twice. Combine the decoctions into a wooden basin (the wooden basin dissipates heat slowly and keeps warm for a long time). Fumigate your feet first, and soak your feet when the temperature is appropriate (38℃-45℃), for 30-40 minutes each time, twice a day, 1 dose each time. One course of treatment is 3 days, and one course of treatment is usually effective.

2: The soapberry thorns and centipedes in the prescription can invigorate blood circulation and dredge the meridians; Scrophularia and honeysuckle can clear away heat, detoxify and reduce swelling; Trillium contains colchicine, which, when used together with the above, can promote the excretion of uric acid; soaking your feet in hot water can promote blood circulation, warm the internal organs, invigorate blood circulation and dredge the meridians.

4. Diet therapy

1: Limit protein intake and choose more milk, cheese, skimmed milk powder and eggs, which contain less purine; try not to eat meat, poultry and fish. If you must eat them, you should boil the meat and discard the soup before eating. This is because purine is easily soluble in water and its content in soup is very high. Although soy products are high in protein, they are not suitable for gout patients to eat because they contain high purine components. For example, soybeans, tofu, dried tofu, etc. are prohibited from being eaten.

2: Control total energy intake. Patients should control their total energy intake every day and eat less carbohydrates. In addition, eat less sucrose and honey because they are high in fructose and will accelerate the production of uric acid. Among vegetables, young lentils, green beans, and fresh peas contain high levels of purine, so their consumption should also be limited. This is one of the precautions in the dietary treatment of gout.

3: Eat more alkaline foods. Alkaline foods include vegetables, potatoes, fruits (green plums, lemons), etc., which can reduce the acidity of blood and urine. Watermelon and winter melon are not only alkaline foods, but also more beneficial for gout patients. It is recommended to eat leavened noodles and alkaline porridge because the alkaline substances they contain can promote the excretion of uric acid and protect the kidneys.

4: Limit purine intake. Purine is a component in the cell nucleus. Any food that contains cells contains purine. Animal foods contain more purine. Avoid or abstain from eating high-purine foods such as animal offal, shrimp and crabs, thick broth, edible fungi, seaweed, anchovies, sardines, clams, beans and beer.

Five: Gout patients should not take

In addition to using appropriate medications, you should also pay attention to the combination of work and rest in your daily life, avoid overwork, mental stress, infection, and surgery. It is generally not recommended for gout patients to participate in strenuous physical exercises such as running, or go on long-distance walking tours.
