Small cysts may not cause any symptoms and are only discovered during X-ray examinations. Larger cysts may not cause symptoms until they become infected or swell and compress surrounding tissues. This disease should be treated surgically, with good results.

Clinical manifestations:

1. Small lung cysts may not have any symptoms. Most of them will cause cough, sputum, small amount of hemoptysis, low fever and other symptoms after communicating with the bronchi.

2. When the cyst grows bigger, it compresses the surrounding tissues, causing symptoms of compression such as wheezing, coughing, and chest pain.

3. If the bronchus leading to the cyst cavity is partially blocked, it will act like a valve, causing progressive accumulation of air in the cyst, forming a tension cyst or the cyst will rupture into a tension pneumothorax. Symptoms and signs may include dyspnea, tachycardia, cyanosis, apex palpitations, and trachea pushed to the contralateral side.

diagnosis:

1. Clinical history: history of repeated lung infections such as cough, sputum, and small amounts of hemoptysis;

2. Chest X-ray examination shows a round or oval dense shadow with clear edges, or a round or oval thin-walled translucent cavity shadow with a fluid level.
