How much do you know about the symptoms of gastroptosis?

I suddenly felt stomach discomfort, first with mild cramps, vomiting, and constipation, and thought it was caused by improper diet. The symptoms may become more and more severe, with abdominal distension and pain, and the symptoms of gastroptosis are extremely obvious, accompanied by:

1. Neuropsychiatric symptoms. Because the various symptoms of gastroptosis torment patients for a long time, their mental burden is too heavy, resulting in neuropsychiatric symptoms such as insomnia, headache, dizziness, dullness, depression, etc. Symptoms may also include hypotension, palpitations, and syncope upon standing.

2. Nausea and vomiting. It often occurs after meals or during activities, especially when eating too much. This is because taking in a large amount of food at one time increases the traction of the stomach wall ligaments and causes pain, followed by nausea and vomiting.

3. Constipation. Constipation is often stubborn, and its main reason may be that the transverse colon prolapses at the same time, causing the hepatic flexure and splenic flexure of the colon to form an acute angle, resulting in slow passage.

4. Abdominal distension and upper abdominal discomfort. Patients often report a feeling of fullness, heaviness, and pressure in the abdomen.

5. Abdominal pain. Most of the pain is persistent. It often occurs after meals and is related to food intake. The more you eat, the longer the pain lasts and the more severe the pain is. At the same time, pain is related to activity, and activity after meals often makes the pain worse.

6. Physical examination shows a slender body shape. The tenderness point in the upper abdomen is not fixed due to changes in standing and lying positions. Sometimes, when impact palpation is used, or when the patient changes position rapidly, a sound of water splashing below the navel can be heard. The aortic pulsation can be easily felt in the upper abdomen, often accompanied by signs of hepatoptosis, nephroptosis and colonoptosis.

Daily Health

1. Strengthen nutrition so that the greater omentum and lesser omentum have a certain amount of fat to increase their adhesion and support to the stomach.

2. Be careful to avoid overwork, do not stand or walk for long periods of time, or engage in strenuous exercise or physical labor immediately after a meal.

3. Appropriate medications, acupuncture, massage, etc. can be used.

4. Appropriate physical exercise should be performed (except for those who are malnourished or have been ill for a long time) to make the muscles and ligaments that maintain the stomach developed and strong.
