Do you know what causes chickenpox?

A few small red spots appeared on the baby's body and face, but the mother didn't take it seriously. It was only until a day later when the symptoms became more serious that she realized that the baby had chickenpox. According to professionals, the disease can be transmitted through direct contact or indirect contact through saliva.

1. Chickenpox is highly contagious . Varicella is a common and easily epidemic virus that is highly contagious. Some susceptible people will develop the disease once they come into contact with children with chickenpox, with an incidence rate as high as 92%. Therefore, children with chickenpox will become the source of infection of the disease. They are often contagious 2 days before the rash appears and one week after the onset of the disease. Contact at this time will cause chickenpox.

2. Chickenpox is transmitted in a wide range of ways . The causes of chickenpox are related to direct contact with chickenpox patients and indirect contact with saliva. In addition, it can be indirectly transmitted through healthy people in a short period of time, which means that as long as you come into contact with people with chickenpox and do not have the vaccine yourself, the chance of natural infection is high, which will cause chickenpox.

3. Children’s immunity is low. Children with low immunity and who have not been vaccinated against varicella are susceptible to infection with the varicella virus, which causes chickenpox. This requires parents to attach importance to the vaccination of children against varicella, pay attention to their children's diet in daily life, and encourage them to exercise more to enhance their resistance.

4. Infection through the mother. The antibodies of babies under 6 months old come from their mothers, so babies in this period generally do not get chickenpox. However, if the pregnant mother had chickenpox during pregnancy, this may be transmitted to the baby, causing the baby to have chickenpox after birth. However, the baby will gain long-lasting immunity after the chickenpox.

In short, chickenpox is generally caused by the above reasons. The most important reason is infection. The chickenpox virus is really contagious. People who have not been vaccinated have a high probability of getting sick once they come into contact with patients. Therefore, the best way to prevent chickenpox, in addition to improving immunity, is to get vaccinated with the chickenpox vaccine.
