What to do if your armpit hair smells? 7 tips to remove the odor

Many people's armpit hair will have odor, especially in the summer when sweating is severe the odor will be more obvious. At this time, you can choose some suitable antiperspirant products, take a bath frequently, and eat more fragrant foods, such as foods high in iron and green leafy vegetables.

1. Choose an antiperspirant product that suits you.

Antiperspirants are the most common type. The aluminum compounds in them can reduce sweat secretion by 15%-20%, while the bactericidal formula can inhibit the growth of bacteria on the body surface and the decomposition of sweat, thereby eliminating odor.

The best time to apply antiperspirant is before bed. Because there is less moisture in the armpits before going to bed, and the body is lying flat, which makes it easier for antiperspirant to be absorbed.

In addition, almond bath gel and baking soda are also good helpers for removing underarm odor.

Studies have found that bath lotions made with almond extract can eliminate body odor more effectively than regular bath lotions. Baking soda absorbs moisture and kills odor-causing bacteria, and it's easy to use: sprinkle a proper amount into your bath water or mix it with talcum powder and apply to your armpits.

2. Take a bath in tomato juice.

When taking a bath, add 500 ml of tomato juice to the bathtub, then soak your armpits in the water with tomato juice for 15 minutes. Do this twice a week to effectively remove armpit odor.

3. Use salt wisely.

Salt has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and can be applied directly to the armpits when taking a bath. On weekdays, you can soak a cotton ball in salt water which is slightly lighter than sea water and carry it with you to remove sweat at any time.

4. Use skin care products containing citric acid.

Using some skin care products that contain citric acid to moisturize and adjust the pH value of the skin can help. For example, aloe vera extract, avocado oil, castor oil, and allantoin.

5. Eat more fragrant foods.

Foods that improve body aroma include green leafy vegetables, foods containing iron, foods containing magnesium, and foods that improve metabolism.

The rich alkaline components contained in green leafy vegetables can promptly offset the large amount of acidic components produced by animal foods and excrete them out of the body, making the body odor light and fragrant.

Iron-containing foods, such as spinach, beans, animal liver, livestock and poultry blood, etc., combine with hydrochloric acid after entering the stomach to become ferrous chloride, which can produce a chamomile scent.

Foods containing magnesium, such as wheat, seaweed, beans, etc., can make the body emit an apricot scent.

6. Apply formalin bath solution externally.

Applying formalin externally can coagulate local skin proteins, thereby destroying the openings of hair follicles and sweat glands, and reducing the secretion and excretion of sweat. This method is suitable for patients with mild odor.

7. Surgical treatment.

If after examination it is confirmed that you have severe body odor, the most fundamental method is to go to the hospital for surgical treatment.
