What should people with schizophrenia pay attention to in their daily lives? Nursing for schizophrenia

Nowadays, the pace of social life is getting faster and faster, and most people are facing tremendous pressure to survive. If a person is usually introverted, it is easy to develop schizophrenia. Family members should be extra careful with patients with schizophrenia to prevent them from escaping or committing suicide.

1. Anti-escape:

Patients with delusions and hallucinations such as being persecuted and guilty should be strictly prevented from escaping. Escapes often occur when staff open the door. When patients are walking in the hospital or undergoing special examinations, they must be strictly prevented and attention must be focused on patients with escape attempts, and necessary schizophrenia nursing measures must be taken according to the causes.

2. Prevent suicide:

Patients with severe depression, anxiety, or hallucinations and delusions require intensive care for schizophrenia. Collect and check the debris in the ward at any time to prevent patients from bringing dangerous items such as ropes, knives, scissors, etc. into the ward. When giving medicine to patients, prevent them from holding the tablets between their fingers or hiding them between their teeth, cheeks, or under their tongue.

3. Prevent impulsiveness from causing harm or damaging property:

Strictly implement the dangerous goods management system and collect debris at all times to prevent it from being used as a weapon to injure people. For patients with serious injury, schizophrenia care can be given protection or placed in a separate isolation room according to the doctor's orders. If a patient suddenly becomes impulsive and attacks someone with a weapon, several people should approach him from the front and back at the same time and take away the weapon by surprise.

4. Pay more attention to patients:

Severely excited and agitated patients should be isolated to prevent them from interfering with each other. Find out the cause of the patient's excitement and agitation and give more comfort. When caring for a patient with schizophrenia, explanations should be given patiently first.
