Is pneumonia contagious? Timely treatment is the key

The season between winter and spring is also a season when pneumonia is more common. Also, the smog weather is very serious now. If the baby is not properly cared for, he or she may be easily infected with pneumonia. Generally, pneumonia is not contagious, but active symptomatic treatment is required to avoid worsening of the disease.

1. Most pneumonia is not contagious

The most common bacterial infection of pneumonia in adults is Streptococcus pneumoniae. Other pathogens include anaerobic bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Chlamydia psittaci, Chlamydia trachomatis and many other Gram-negative rods. These pathogens may be transmitted through contact between people or through contact between people and objects, but even if you are infected with these pathogens, you will not get pneumonia as long as your immunity is healthy. It is often when the body's resistance is reduced that pathogens take advantage of the situation and invade, causing illness.

There are very few contagious pneumonias, such as SARS, anthrax, and pneumonic plague. These types of pneumonia are caused by viruses and are highly contagious. They are a type of infectious disease that is strictly controlled by the country. Of course, there is no need to be particularly afraid of this type of disease. Although it is very dangerous, the possibility of getting it is very small. The pathogenic mechanisms, causes and treatments of these diseases are different from those of pneumonia.

2. Is baby pneumonia easy to treat?

First, pneumonia is mainly a respiratory disease and is related to the respiratory tract, so don't eat spicy or greasy foods, which will aggravate the condition. Eat more light foods and some meat, but don't cause inflammation.

Second, avoid places with large amounts of dust. Dust can be inhaled into the respiratory tract through the mouth and cause harm to pneumonia. It is best to be hospitalized for treatment, which will provide good protection for the child's health and will also be beneficial to the child's recovery and care.

Third, if the pneumonia is not very serious, it is best to treat it with Chinese medicine. Western medicine has some serious side effects and is irritating to the body. Chinese medicine is relatively mild, can cure the disease, and is not irritating, which can ensure the child's physical safety.

Do not smoke near your child when he or she is suffering from pneumonia, as the smoke will be inhaled into the child's lungs and cause harm. Do not put your child under too much psychological pressure. Live a healthy lifestyle and have a regular diet. Eat more foods rich in vitamins, nutritious, easily digestible, light foods, eat more fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water.
