Can traditional Chinese medicine cure insomnia? Acupuncture cures insomnia

1. Moxibustion

Acupoints: Sanyinjiao, Shenmen, Xinshu, Baihui, Neiguan, Zusanli

2. Operation

(1) Moxibustion through ginger: Each acupoint can be moxibustioned with 5-10 moxa sticks the size of soybeans, once every night, and 5 times constitute a course of treatment.

(2) Mild moxibustion: Each acupoint can be moxibustioned for 10-15 minutes, once a night, and 7 times constitute a course of treatment.

(3) Moxibustion with moxa sticks and celery roots: Take fresh celery roots, cut them into 0.2 cm thin slices, and place them on the acupoints. Place moxa sticks and moxibustion for 3-5 times, once every night.

(4) Pearl layer powder moxibustion: Take equal amounts of pearl layer powder, salvia miltiorrhiza powder, sulfur powder, and borneol, mix them evenly, fill the navel and apply moxibustion, once a night, 7 times as a course of treatment.

(5) Cinnabar moxibustion: Take the Yongquan acupoints on both feet, grind 3-5 grams of cinnabar into fine powder, use a clean white cloth, apply a little paste, and evenly adhere the cinnabar to it, then apply it to the Yongquan acupoints, fix it with adhesive tape, wash your feet with hot water before use, and apply it before going to bed.

3. Skin acupuncture

Acupoints: Commonly used acupoints: both sides of cervical vertebrae 1 to 7, both sides of thoracic vertebrae 5 to 12

Alternative acupoints: forehead, head, eyebrow arch, Shenmen, Zusanli, and Sanyinjiao.

All the above-mentioned areas are selected, with emphasis on tapping both sides of the commonly used acupoints with skin needles, using light or moderate techniques. Start with the cervical vertebrae and tap from top to bottom twice. Then make transverse punctures at thoracic vertebrae 5 to 12, with three needles in each transverse position. Tap 20 to 50 times within 0.5 to 1.5 cm of the acupoint surface. Tap the forehead in three horizontal lines and tap the head in a net-like pattern. The technique is the same as before. Local skin flushing or slight bleeding is appropriate. Take once a day or every other day, 12 times as a course of treatment, with one week between courses.
