The efficacy and function of strychnine are really so powerful

Some people think that strychnos nux vomica is poisonous and simply stay away from it. Little do people know that this idea is extremely wrong. The efficacy and function of Strychnos nux vomica are very great. It can be used to treat facial nerve paralysis, myasthenia gravis, tuberculosis, cervical erosion, etc.

①Treatment of facial nerve paralysis

After moistening the strychnine, cut it into thin slices. 1.2 qian can be cut into 18 to 24 slices. Arrange them on the adhesive plaster and apply to the affected side of the face (if it is deflected to the left, stick it to the right; if it is deflected to the right, stick it to the left). Change the plaster every 7 to 10 days until it returns to normal. Generally, for mild cases, 2 applications are sufficient. 15,000 people were treated, with about 80% effectiveness.

②Treatment of myasthenia gravis

Soak the seeds of Strychnos nux vomica in water (warm water in winter and cool water in summer) for 10 to 14 days, peel them, put them into boiling peanut oil, and simmer for about 30 minutes. When they turn brown (break into pieces when tapped by hand), take them out and mix them with talcum powder to absorb the oil. After about 10 to 14 hours, sieve out the talcum powder and rinse them once with clean water. Grind them into powder after they are dry and you can take them. Start with 1.5 fen per day, divided into 3 doses, and gradually increase to 3.2 fen or 4 fen per day. Three cases were treated, two of which achieved good short-term efficacy, and one was ineffective. One of the patients was first treated with neostigmine and other drugs. The effect was good at the beginning, but then gradually decreased. The patient was then switched to treatment with strychnine. The patient's muscle strength gradually recovered, his grip strength increased, he no longer had double vision, and he was able to take care of himself.

③Treatment of tuberculosis

The strychnine eggs were used to treat one case each of cervical lymphadenopathy, tuberculous peritonitis, and chronic fibrous cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis combined with pleurisy, all with certain efficacy. Method: Take 4 qian of Strychnos nux vomica and smash it (for cervical lymphadenitis with sinus formation, add 1 liang of Coptis chinensis), soak it in boiling water for 1 hour, then put in 7 eggs, simmer for 1 hour, take out the eggs, soak them in cold water for a while, and then put them back into the original medicine solution and soak for 1 hour. This will make the Strychnos nux vomica medicinal eggs. Take them out and keep them in a cool place for later use. Take one medicated egg on an empty stomach every morning. One course of treatment is 7 days. Wait for 7 days before continuing the next course of treatment. Generally 2 to 4 courses of treatment are required. Be careful not to break the eggs during the boiling and soaking process. Broken eggs should be discarded and not eaten. One case of cervical lymphadenopathy achieved very good results; one case of tuberculous peritonitis had no obvious effect after more than 4 months of treatment with anti-tuberculosis drugs. After three courses of treatment with Strychnos nux vomica medicated eggs, the abdominal mass disappeared and the bowel movements were normal. Only inconspicuous cord-like objects were found in the liver area and right lower abdomen during palpation. The patient was cured and discharged after taking the medicated eggs for another 2 courses. Another case of chronic fibrous cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis combined with pleurisy and pleural effusion had pleural effusions drawn 4 times within 10 days. After two courses of treatment with the medicated eggs, all the pleural effusions were absorbed. In addition, the use of medicated eggs also had a significant effect on 3 cases of hilar lymph node tuberculosis. However, for some other tuberculosis patients, adding strychnine hydrochloride to anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy had no effect.

④Treatment of cervical erosion

Take the seeds of Strychnos nux vomica, fry them in sesame oil, filter out the residue, then add appropriate amount of Vaseline and mix them into an ointment for later use. First rinse the vagina with potassium permanganate water, wipe off the secretions from the vagina and cervix, dip the cotton plug with thread in the Strychnos nux vomica ointment and place it on the eroded area, leaving the end of the thread outside the vagina, and remove it after 6 hours. Apply the medicine once a day or every other day, 6 times as a course of treatment, and those who are not cured can continue for two or three courses of treatment. 34 cases were observed, 13 were cured, 20 were effective, and 1 showed no change.

⑤Treatment of carbuncle

Put the strychnine seeds into a copper pot, add sesame oil and fry until it turns dark yellow, take it out, scrape off the hair, grind it into fine powder, use rice paste to make pills or capsules (on average, 1 strychnine seed can make 4 pills). For healthy adults, take 3 to 4 pills a day, once with rice soup before going to bed. Not suitable for pregnant women, the weak or children under 6 years old. More than 1,500 cases were treated, all with significant results.
