What to do if your lips become inflamed and ulcerated

What to do if your lips become inflamed and ulcerated

Don’t think that dry lips and frequent peeling are a sign of vitamin deficiency. It is not just because of vitamin deficiency. You may get cheilitis. Inflammation of the lips may cause ulcers or even multiple complications. Therefore, you must eliminate some problems in your life, make reasonable improvements, supplement more vitamins, and maintain a healthy diet.

What is the best time to treat cheilitis?

For patients with chronic desquamative cheilitis with desquamation and chapped skin, you can first use warm water to apply local wet compresses to remove the desquamation. Alternatively, apply antibiotic or hormone ointment, but be careful not to use it for a long time. For patients with cheilitis, you can also wash two fresh tomatoes, squeeze the juice, hold it in your mouth for two minutes and spit it out, repeat three times and then rinse your mouth with clean water, once in the morning and once in the evening. Cheilitis will disappear in about three days.

For people with cheilitis, the first thing to do is to eliminate all irritants and change bad living habits. Avoid stimulation from wind, cold and other factors. For damage such as dryness, desquamation and chapped skin, you can apply some anti-inflammatory ointment or hormone ointment. You can also use vitamin A, C, and cod liver oil ointment. To improve epithelial metabolism, thereby reducing the symptoms of scaling and cracking. If there are lesions such as acute exudative swelling, erosion and scab, you can apply 0.1% rivanol solution for wet compress, or chloramphenicol solution or chloramphenicol glycerol. When the inflammation is severe, antibiotics may be given to control the infection, or local injection of prednisolone suspension may be given to eliminate inflammation and promote healing.

Cheilitis can also be treated with traditional Chinese medicine. Use licorice and two bowls of water to boil the licorice juice over medium heat. After removing the residue, boil the juice until it becomes a paste. Then put it in a small bottle and apply it to the affected area. Apply twice a day and you will see results in a few days. For patients with cheilitis, you can also cook half a dozen eggs in boiling water, remove the shells and egg whites, and put 6 egg yolks in a dry pan. First, fry them over low heat to remove the water, and then use high heat to burn the egg yolks until they are charred and oil comes out. Put the oil in a small bottle, apply it to the affected area after it cools down, and apply it three times a day. It will be effective after a few days.

Patients with cheilitis should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. For example, eat foods rich in protein. Try to eat less sour, spicy, numb, astringent, hot, and fried foods. You should never eat inferior food pickled with industrial salt. Correct some bad living habits, drink less, smoke less, do not use antibiotics at will, and do not use inferior or unsuitable lipsticks. Don't get lip tattoos blindly. And change those habits such as biting lips and tongue. Avoid mucosal trauma.

The above is an introduction to the best time to treat cheilitis. I hope everyone can learn more from it, which may play a big role in future life. I also hope that those who suffer from cheilitis can choose a treatment method that suits them and recover soon. At the same time, we also hope that people who are not suffering from the disease can learn more about this aspect and prevent cheilitis.
