The heart is the most important organ in the human body. It can supply blood to the whole body. The normal heartbeat is a necessary condition for human health. Everyone's heartbeat is usually relatively stable, and the number of beats per minute should be within a reasonable range under normal circumstances. But sometimes people just snap. You may feel your heart beating faster, which may last for a short while. So, why does the heartbeat sometimes suddenly speed up? Sometimes your heart beats faster suddenly, which is called paroxysmal tachycardia. Generally, the following situations may occur: 1. Paroxysmal rapid atrial fibrillation: The ventricular rate is greater than 100 beats/minute, the heart or pulse beats very irregularly, and the duration can be long or short; it often terminates on its own and is prone to recurrence. Common causes include coronary heart disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, preexcitation syndrome, etc., in patients without evidence of organic heart disease or other diseases, which is idiopathic atrial fibrillation. 2. Paroxysmal atrial tachycardia: It is more common in patients with pathological or organic heart disease, but can also be seen in healthy people without heart disease. 3. Supraventricular tachycardia: Supraventricular tachycardia presents paroxysmal attacks, that is, sudden onset and sudden cessation. The heart rate is generally between 160 and 180 beats per minute. It is more common in healthy people. Coronary heart disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, preexcitation syndrome, etc. can also cause it. 4. Sinus tachycardia: Sinus tachycardia generally does not present in paroxysmal attacks, but gradually accelerates or slows down. In addition, sinus tachycardia is easily affected by extracardiac factors, such as exercise, eating, standing, emotional excitement, tension, etc., which can increase the heart rate; pathological conditions are seen in hyperthyroidism, anemia, heart diseases such as active myocarditis, heart failure, etc. In addition, cardiovascular dysfunction is a common cause of tachycardia. The above tachycardia, if it occurs occasionally and lasts for a short time, is difficult to diagnose with a routine electrocardiogram. It is recommended to do a 24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram to clarify the cause of tachycardia. When the attack lasts for a long time or is frequent, you should go to the hospital for an electrocardiogram in time to clarify the nature of the arrhythmia. You should also have a cardiac B-ultrasound to rule out organic heart disease. If examination reveals sinus tachycardia and there is no obvious organic lesion, it is mostly caused by cardiovascular dysfunction. |
