Early symptoms of tuberculosis, cough and sputum should be paid attention to

Tuberculosis is a very common lung disease, which is extremely harmful to patients. It can cause coughing, sepsis, and weight loss. The most obvious symptom in the early stages of tuberculosis is coughing and sputum. It is important to provide symptomatic care, ventilate the room more often, and avoid infection.

1. Common symptoms

1. Fever: manifested as low fever in the afternoon, with body temperature rising between 4-8 pm, generally between 37-38°C. At this time, patients often experience general fatigue or weight loss, night sweats, and women may experience irregular menstruation or amenorrhea.

2. Cough and sputum: It is the most common early symptom of pulmonary tuberculosis, but it is also the most likely to cause patients or doctors to mistake it for a "cold" or "tracheitis" and lead to misdiagnosis.

3. Blood in sputum: There are blood streaks or small blood clots in the sputum. Most of the time, blood in sputum is caused by tuberculosis.

2. Symptomatic Care

1. It is best to give the patient a room with good air circulation and plenty of sunlight. If conditions do not permit, the patient can sleep in a single bed and always open windows for ventilation.

2. Patients' bedding should be frequently exposed to sunlight for disinfection. After the patient recovers, the room should be thoroughly disinfected. You can light the moxa rolls or put 1 to 2 spoons of rice vinegar on the stove for steaming per cubic meter of space, and then spray the space and the ground with 3% bleaching powder supernatant or 3% Lysol, and close the doors and windows for 1-2 hours.

3. Patients should reduce contact with others and avoid going to public places.

4. The patient's supplies, eating utensils, sputum, and vomitus must be disinfected. Pay special attention to the patient's sputum, which should be spit onto paper or into a spittoon and then burned or disinfected before being poured away. 5. The best way to isolate tuberculosis patients is to be hospitalized and isolated in a specialized tuberculosis hospital, which reduces the chance of infection to family members and other people, which is beneficial to the family and society.

5. Use cough suppressants and sedatives with caution, and guide patients to cough effectively to ensure that the respiratory tract is open.
