Intestinal intussusception is a common disease in children, but what causes intestinal intussusception? According to relevant personnel, the cause of this disease is not clear and it is an idiopathic disease. However, once intussusception is discovered, medical treatment should be sought promptly. Enema is generally chosen as the method of recovery. If it is discovered too late, surgical treatment may be required. Children should not engage in strenuous exercise after treatment of intussusception, and should also pay attention to their diet. What causes inguinal herniation in children? Intussusception is when a segment of the intestine is inserted into the adjacent intestine, causing a blockage in the passage of intestinal contents. There are two types of intussusception: primary and secondary. Primary intussusception mostly occurs in infants and young children. In the vast majority of cases, the proximal intestine is intussuscepted into the distal intestine, while reverse intussusception is relatively rare. Ninety percent of intussusceptions have no obvious cause, which is called "idiopathic". Once intussusception is suspected, the pediatrician will ask the radiologist to do a barium enema examination for the baby, which is both a diagnosis and treatment at the same time. In recent years, advances in abdominal ultrasound technology have made it a quick and accurate tool for diagnosing intussusception. Enema with warm saline under direct ultrasound vision can also partially restore intussusception. Prevention and recovery of intussusception in children 1. Do not do strenuous exercise after eating Do not let your baby do strenuous exercise after eating, avoid crying, feed light and easily digestible food, avoid raw, cold, hard, spicy and other irritating foods, eat small meals frequently, avoid overeating, take your baby outdoors more often, strengthen the body to prevent colds, get more sun to promote calcium absorption, keep warm, and avoid catching cold which speeds up intestinal peristalsis and causes intussusception. 2. Prepare easily digestible and nutritious food for your child In addition, the child's stomach and intestines will be relatively fragile after just recovering from inguinal hernia, so the child will refuse to eat and vomit. Therefore, during the period of gastrointestinal recovery, parents can prepare more easily digestible and nutritious food for the child, speed up the child's gastrointestinal conditioning without harming the child's stomach and intestines, so that the child can recover as soon as possible. As children grow up, parents are always worried that their children will not get enough nutrition, so they feed them all kinds of food. In fact, children should avoid diarrhea on a daily basis, not be too hungry or too full, change food at will, and add supplementary food gradually. Now most families have enough nutrition for three meals a day, so there is no need to worry too much about children not eating well, as it will have the opposite effect. |
