What does a pregnant uterus look like?

When a woman successfully conceives, the fertilized egg will implant, and after implantation it will gradually grow and develop to form an embryo. The embryo gradually grows and develops slowly in the uterus. The posture of the fetus in the uterus is called the fetal position. When it is about 32 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus's head is generally facing down. Before delivery, the fetal head will enter the pelvis, and finally the baby will come into this world.

What does the pregnant uterus look like? The posture of the fetus in the uterus is called the "fetal position", which is described by the part of the fetus that is delivered first when it is born. It can be divided into breech position, head position, etc., indicating that these positions are closest to the pelvis.

The normal position of the fetus in the uterus is vertical (upright position), but sometimes it may lie horizontally in the uterus (transverse position), or somewhere in between the two (oblique position). Another position is breech presentation. If the mother gives birth in this position, she will most likely need a cesarean section.

By 32 weeks of gestation, most fetuses have turned to a head-down position in the uterus, which occurs between about 28 weeks and delivery. But this is not the case for some fetuses. They remain head-up in the uterus for a longer time. A few fetuses remain in the head-up position and are not born buttocks first.

Because the small fetus has a larger space in the uterus, position changes such as buttocks to head or head to buttocks may occur within a certain period of time. Sometimes when the fetus is not fixed in the head position, this is a sign that the pregnancy is not progressing as you expected.

You'll know your baby is in the head-down position by feeling its feet, rather than the hard ball of its head, pressing against your ribs. Once the fetus is fixed in the head-down position, the fetal head pushes against the elastic pelvic floor muscles. It is mild at first, then becomes more intense as the fetal head gradually extends into the pelvis.

What kind of uterus is good for pregnancy?

Generally speaking, the chances of conception with an anterior uterus are greater, while the chances of conception with a posterior uterus are smaller. Because the cervix of an anterior uterus points downward toward the posterior fornix of the vagina, it is located lower in the body and semen tends to concentrate there. Therefore, after sexual intercourse, the cervix is easily soaked in semen, which is conducive to the sperm passing through the cervical opening to meet the egg and conceive.

Women with normal uterine position can have anterior uterus, posterior uterus and parallel uterus. The only big difference between anterior and posterior uterus is that the chances of pregnancy are very different.

How to change the posterior position of the uterus to anterior position

The position of the uterus is mobile and not fixed. If you have no symptoms, no treatment is necessary. You can do chest-knee lying exercises to improve the retroverted uterus.

The above article specifically introduces to women what kind of uterus is prone to pregnancy. It can be seen that there are three types of uterus: anteverted uterus, median uterus, and retroverted uterus. An anterior uterus is the best position for conception. Of course, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have an anterior uterus. As long as you follow the doctor’s advice and take good care of the fetus during pregnancy, there will be no problem with the baby’s smooth birth.
