Symptoms of discomfort during the second trimester

Symptoms of discomfort during the second trimester

When a woman is in the middle of her pregnancy, her belly will gradually grow larger, and her uterus will also gradually grow larger. At this time, she must be carefully nursed back to health, and her family must also take good care of her. Some uncomfortable symptoms are prone to occur in the middle of pregnancy. The most common one is the gradual increase in vaginal secretions. If it is not properly adjusted at this time, it may easily cause some symptoms of vaginitis. In addition, because the belly becomes larger, it puts pressure on the pelvis, which can easily lead to varicose veins and cause hemorrhoids and other hazards.

Symptoms of discomfort during the second trimester

1. Increased vaginal secretions are affected by estrogen (female hormone secreted by the ovaries), which causes the vaginal mucosa to proliferate and the cervical glands to secrete more mucus. Although this is a normal phenomenon of pregnancy, the acidity of the vagina is reduced, making it easy for bacteria to grow and cause infection.

To avoid vaginal infection, it is best to choose breathable, cotton underwear. I bought "Auntie Underwear", a type of pure cotton maternity underwear, in the early stages of my pregnancy. Although this type of Auntie Underwear looks rustic, it is very comfortable to wear. Some pregnant mothers will prepare many pairs of panties and replace them at any time when the vaginal discharge increases. However, I am busy working outside every day and it is inconvenient to change underwear from time to time. Therefore, I use sanitary napkins to deal with the problem of increased vaginal discharge.

2. Varicose veins are caused by pelvic pressure caused by the growing belly, which leads to varicose veins in the lower limbs or vulva. If you do not need to stand for a long time at work, it is best not to stand for too long at other times. When sitting down, remember not to sit cross-legged, as these will worsen blood circulation and make varicose veins more serious. To prevent varicose veins, you must effectively control your weight. If you gain weight too quickly, varicose veins will appear faster. If you are a pregnant mother who often needs to stand for a long time, it is best to prepare well-fitting elastic socks and put them on with your legs raised before getting up so that blood does not have a chance to accumulate in the veins; you should raise your legs for at least ten minutes when taking off your socks. If you stand for too long, it is best to move your feet and find an opportunity to raise your legs and rest. As for varicose veins in the vulva, you can put a cushion or pillow under your buttocks when you sleep, or use a sanitary pad to gently press the affected area to improve the discomfort.

3. Hemorrhoids The formation of hemorrhoids is similar to varicose veins. They are caused by the gradually enlarging uterus, which hinders the blood circulation near the anus and causes the veins to swell. They are accompanied by itching, pain, and sometimes slight bleeding, which really makes pregnant mothers feel fear when going to the toilet. The best way to prevent hemorrhoids is to develop a habit of regular bowel movements to prevent constipation. The best way to prevent constipation is to drink plenty of water and eat more fiber-rich foods. I had mild constipation in the early stages of my pregnancy, but when I was approaching the third trimester of my pregnancy, I ate fruit every night and discovered that supplementing with fruit helped me to have smooth bowel movements every day and improved my constipation.
