What to do if a child has corns on his feet

If a child is found to have corns on his feet, it is still necessary to pay attention to it. However, because the symptoms are not so obvious, many parents do not pay much attention to it. This will cause the child's corns to become more and more serious. In fact, if you find that your child has corns, you must take appropriate treatment measures. Local treatment is quite critical, and relevant surgical removal methods may be required when necessary.

Corns plaster

Using corn plaster is a relatively common method, which mainly relies on corrosion to cause the corns to rot away and then be pulled out. The pain is quite severe. During the treatment period, it is impossible to wear shoes or walk. Generally, the pain will worsen after use, and many people will give up treatment, which will lead to repeated attacks.

Topical treatments

Both soft and hard corns can be treated with 30% salicylic acid collodion once a day, and soaked in hot water after one week. The treatment is not complete.

Physical therapy

For small numbers of skin lesions, physical therapies such as freezing and laser can be used, which are effective quickly but are prone to recurrence and scarring.

Surgical resection

It can be used for common warts, which have quick effects but are expensive, prone to infection, and prone to recurrence after surgery.

Systemic treatment

You can choose drugs such as interferon for treatment. If the tumor is relatively large, it is best not to use this method for treatment. This method has relatively large side effects and is generally not recommended.

Acupuncture treatment

Circumferential needling with filiform needles, fire needles, three-edged needles, and moxibustion. The effect is slow.

Topical medication

It uses pure Chinese herbal preparations, which are non-irritating, have no side effects, and do not contain hormones. It can completely cure corns and plantar warts without recurrence and can be used by pregnant women and children.

What causes corns?

Standing or walking for long periods of time

Corns are mostly caused by long-term compression or squeezing of the feet, which leads to thickening of the stratum corneum. Therefore, occupational groups that stand or walk for long periods of time are more susceptible to corns.

Shoe Problems

The appearance of corns is related to shoes. High heels or shoes that are too tight may cause long-term irritation to the feet and lead to the formation of corns.

High-heeled boots cause corns

Long boots wrap up the calves and feet, leaving the ankle joint with very limited range of motion, which greatly reduces the ability to self-adapt and protect. There are many cases where people fall down while wearing long boots, resulting in sprained or broken ankles. If it is high-heeled boots, the risk factor is even greater, so it is best to buy boots with softer leather.

Corns due to high heels

If the heels are too high and you have to maintain an upright posture at the same time, the Achilles tendon will be under long-term tension. People who often wear high heels will feel that the Achilles tendon is not elastic enough, and they may even be unable to walk without taking off their high heels.

Heels that are too high will also cause the gastrocnemius muscle at the back of the calf to move upward and be in a tense state, which is very bad for blood circulation in the legs. The muscles will become fatigued and sore due to lack of oxygen, and will also cause cramps.

Congenital foot deformity

The cause of corns is long-term compression or friction of the feet. Congenital foot bone deformities will cause the walking or standing posture to be different from that of ordinary people. At the same time, the feet will be in a state of compression or friction for a long time, resulting in corns on the feet. Therefore, people with congenital foot bone deformities are also prone to corns.
