Symptoms of amniotic fluid leakage in late pregnancy

Symptoms of amniotic fluid leakage in late pregnancy

The symptoms of amniotic fluid leakage in the late pregnancy are quite obvious. At this time, the body will experience a burst of pain, and water will suddenly flow out of the vagina. It is a transparent liquid. At this time, some symptoms of contractions will appear, and the fetal head will block the cervical opening. This means that delivery is imminent, and you should go to the hospital in time to prepare for delivery. Pregnant women should not worry too much. When the amniotic fluid breaks, they should go to the hospital in time to prepare for delivery.

Symptoms of amniotic fluid leakage in late pregnancy

When the amniotic fluid breaks, there will be contractions and water will flow out of the vagina. However, since vaginal secretions increase during pregnancy and may be urine, some mothers find it difficult to tell whether it is the amniotic fluid breaking.

Symptoms of amniotic fluid rupture 1: Water discharge from the vagina accompanied by labor pain

When the amniotic fluid breaks during delivery, the pregnant woman will feel water flowing out of the vagina. If the fetal head blocks the cervical opening, the flow of water will decrease, but water will continue to flow out when it moves. At the same time, accompanied by analgesia, you should go to the hospital to prepare for treatment.

Symptoms of water breaking 2: - Differences between high and low water breaking

There are two types of amniotic fluid rupture: high rupture and low rupture. Low rupture refers to the rupture of amniotic fluid that is low in the location, close to the vagina, and the amount of water flowing out is large. High-position rupture of membranes occurs at a higher location, close to the cervix. This situation is difficult to identify because the vagina of pregnant women often feels moist, and membrane ruptures at this location slowly, similar to vaginal secretions.

Symptom 3 of broken water: Uncontrollable vaginal contractions

The breaking of the amniotic fluid cannot be controlled. If the amount is large, you can feel warmth. When the urine is small, it feels wet, just like urinating, and it will flow out continuously. The contraction of the vagina is also uncontrollable.

How to judge the amniotic fluid rupture

As the fetus grows, the uterus becomes larger, the bladder is compressed, and the ability to store urine is reduced. Pregnant women will then have frequent urination, which can lead to urine leakage. After standing for a long time or lifting heavy objects, you may experience urinary incontinence or even amniotic fluid breakage.

1. Odor identification method

The smell of the flowing liquid can be used to determine whether it is urine leakage or amniotic fluid rupture. The smell of amniotic fluid is natural and sweet. The smell of urine is light and pungent.

2. Water flow speed identification method

Urinary incontinence is intermittent, while amniotic fluid rupture is like flowing water, with a hot stream flowing downwards and cannot be controlled. At the same time, there is a cramping feeling in the abdomen, which is a sign that the fetus is about to be born.

3. Test paper identification method

If you cannot accurately determine whether what is flowing out is urine or amniotic fluid, you can stick the test paper on your underwear and you can tell the difference by the color. The pH of urine is 5.5-6.5, and the pH of amniotic fluid is 7.0-7.5.

If the test paper is blue and turns red after absorbing liquid, it is urine. If it has no color, it is amniotic fluid. On the contrary, if the test paper itself is red and turns blue after use, it is amniotic fluid; if there is no color change, it is urine.
