Manifestations of intestinal Crohn's disease

Manifestations of intestinal Crohn's disease

Many people do not know much about intestinal cloning. It is an extraintestinal complication and the cause is not particularly clear, but it is still quite harmful to patients. Patients often suffer from a variety of symptoms, the most common of which is diarrhea. Sometimes patients have bowel movements several times a day, and generally there is no mucus or thick blood. It often causes abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms. Some patients also have lumps.

Manifestations of intestinal Crohn's disease

1. Diarrhea is common (70% to 90%).

Most people have 2 to 6 bowel movements a day, often without pus, blood or mucus; if the rectum is affected, there will be a feeling of tenesmus.

(ii) Abdominal pain is common (50% to 90%).

It is mostly located in the right lower abdomen and is related to terminal ileum lesions. Abdominal pain after meals is related to gastrointestinal reflexes. Inflammation under the intestinal mucosa stimulates pain receptors, causing the muscle layer to contract and the intestinal wall to be stretched, causing severe pain. Serous membrane involvement, periintestinal abscesses, intestinal adhesions and intestinal obstruction, intestinal perforation and acute peritonitis, and toxic megacolon can all cause abdominal pain. Only 1.8% of patients have acute appendicitis as the first symptom, but 14% to 50% of patients will develop general acute appendicitis during the course of Crohn's disease.

3. Fever accounts for 5% to 40%.

Active intestinal inflammation and absorption of toxins after tissue destruction can cause fever. It is usually moderate fever or low fever and often occurs intermittently. In acute severe cases or those accompanied by suppurative complications, symptoms of toxic blood such as high fever and chills may occur.

(IV) Abdominal mass: About 1/3 of cases have abdominal mass

It is more common in the right lower abdomen and around the navel. Intestinal adhesions, thickening of the intestinal wall and mesentery, mesenteric lymph node enlargement, fistula formation, and intra-abdominal abscesses can all cause abdominal masses. Easily confused with abdominal tuberculosis and tumors.

(V) Blood in stool

Compared with ulcerative colitis, there is less blood in the stool and the amount is generally not much. Other manifestations include nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, fatigue, weight loss, anemia, hypoalbuminemia and other nutritional disorders and extraintestinal manifestations as well as clinical manifestations caused by complications.
