How long does it take for the tooth nerve to die naturally?

The most common cause of toothache is exposed nerves, which can cause severe toothache in patients. Toothache is a relatively deep pain that can make patients restless and have a serious impact on their life and work. If the exposed dental nerves are necrotic, the teeth will no longer hurt. If no appropriate treatment is given, the nerve necrosis will last for a long time. Depending on the individual's physical condition, it may last for a few days or even several months.

What to do if you have dental neuralgia

1. Conventional treatment of dental neuralgia

1. Acupuncture therapy: It is very effective in treating neuralgia. If the pain is severe, generally 5 to 10 courses of acupuncture may be effective.

2. Treatment with traditional Chinese medicine: For example, Matesu imported from Singapore has good clinical effects.

Home treatment for dental neuralgia

1. Active prevention: Learning how to sit, stand, and carry things correctly is the best way to prevent various types of neuralgia. There are different physical therapy methods available to help you learn how to move properly to prevent pain attacks, and you can discuss treatment options with a trained therapist.

2. Massage with an ice bag: Massage with an ice bag can interrupt the conduction of signals along the nerve pathway and be replaced by temperature signals, which can relieve pain.

3. Grow a beard: Men with trigeminal neuralgia can grow a beard to cover their face to avoid cold, as cold sometimes triggers pain.

4. Acupressure massage: Pressing the Hegu point of the large intestine meridian located between the webs of the thumb and index finger can relieve facial pain. Use the thumb or index finger of the right hand to press the point on the left hand for 1 minute, and then press the right hand. Do not use this point if you are pregnant.

5. To relieve chest and upper abdominal pain, you can press the pericardium meridian point. Place your thumb on the center of the inner side of the wrist, about 2 finger widths away from the wrist, between the two bones of the upper limb. Press hard 3-5 times for 1 minute, and then repeat the pressure on the other side. Pressing the Waiguan point can help relieve pain in the upper body. Place your thumb on the middle of the front end of the upper limb, 2 thumbs' width away from the wrist joint. Press for 1 minute, then repeat pressing on the other side, 2-3 times each time.
