Sweating, itching and stinging of the skin

Sweating, itching and stinging of the skin

Sweating is a normal phenomenon, but if the skin sweats and itches with a tingling sensation, it is likely urticaria. Urticaria is a common disease in life. Generally, the incidence of urticaria is highest in young people who like sports. If you have urticaria, you must pay attention to keeping warm, reduce exercise as much as possible, develop good personal hygiene habits, and take a bath and change clothes frequently.

Treatment for urticaria

1. Treat urticaria based on the cause

The treatment of urticaria is mainly to eliminate the cause of the disease. Antibiotics are often required when there is an infection, and certain foods should be temporarily avoided if there is an allergy. Chronic infection is often the cause of chronic urticaria, but the cause of urticaria in some patients is difficult to determine or cannot be found.

2. Combination of internal and external use

First, oral antihistamines are important drugs for treating patients with various urticaria and can control the symptoms of most patients; secondly, topical calamine lotion or zinc oxide lotion can achieve temporary therapeutic effects.

3. TCM treatment of urticaria

Traditional Chinese medicine is effective in treating various types of urticaria. Acute urticaria with wind-heat type can be treated with Jingfang Decoction, while the wind-cold type can be treated with MaGui Geban Decoction. Papular urticaria can be treated with Jingfang Decoction, and acute attacks of chronic urticaria are treated the same as acute urticaria; for those with a prolonged course of the disease, use methods of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, warming the middle and tonifying the kidney, and treating according to syndrome differentiation. For those with heat, use Qingre Kuanxiong Decoction; for those with wind-cold, use Yong'an Zhiyang Recipe; for spleen deficiency, use Weiling Decoction and Renshen Jianpi Pills; for kidney yang deficiency, use Jinkui Shenqi Pills, etc.

Diet for urticaria

1. Avoid eating fishy and irritating foods: such as shrimp, crab, oyster, clams, turtle, hairtail, eel, pork head, rooster, beef, mutton, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, etc., because these foods can easily generate wind, stir blood and turn into heat, which can catalyze the occurrence of this disease.

2. Avoid eating all kinds of spicy foods: such as chili, pepper, cinnamon, onion, curry, fennel, tobacco and alcohol, etc. Because these foods can help heat and move blood, inducing the occurrence of this disease; sometimes they can directly become allergens and cause allergic reactions.

3. Avoid eating fried and greasy foods: such as various fried, grilled, smoked and pickled meat products, animal offal, cream cakes, chocolate, etc., because these foods are easy to produce phlegm and fire or gather moisture and generate heat, causing dampness and heat to accumulate inside the body and accumulate in the skin, inducing this disease.

Note: The above taboos are not absolute.

Strictly speaking, some urticaria is indeed caused by eating certain foods or drinking alcohol, but chronic urticaria has no absolute relationship with food. It’s just that some people will have the rash become more serious after eating certain foods (such as seafood, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, wine, mangoes, strawberries, etc.). Therefore, during the period of drug control of urticaria, if you find that those foods will aggravate the attack of urticaria, you should try to avoid these foods.
