Hemorrhoids do not cause bleeding, only small lumps

After suffering from hemorrhoids, you should strengthen your diet and take medication in time. The appearance of a small lump of flesh near the anus is mostly caused by thrombosed external hemorrhoids. It may also be a symptom of external hemorrhoids caused by varicose veins. At this time, you should pay attention to good conditioning. If it is more serious, you can consider surgical treatment. If you have hemorrhoids, the best way is surgical treatment. Of course, if it is not serious, you can also use conservative methods to strengthen treatment and conditioning.

1. Treatment of thrombosed external hemorrhoids

Patients with thrombosed external hemorrhoids experience severe pain in the anus. In theory, the hematoma can be absorbed by the human body to achieve the purpose of reducing swelling and curing the disease. However, if the local lump remains hard and does not disappear 7 to 10 days after the onset of the disease, surgery is required to remove the thrombus. For some patients who are not suitable for surgery or do not want surgery, non-surgical treatment will continue to be used. The commonly used internal treatment method is to clear away heat and cool blood with clearing as the main focus. The commonly used external treatment method is to use Sophora flavescens decoction combined with Gallnut decoction for fumigation and washing, or to use potassium permanganate hot water for sitting bath, each time for 20 minutes. After fumigation and washing, apply hemorrhoid ointment or golden ointment externally, and change it once a day.

2. Treatment of varicose external hemorrhoids

Varicose external hemorrhoids can be treated with both surgical and non-surgical methods. Generally, surgical methods are used to dissect the external hemorrhoidal venous plexus, while non-surgical treatments use methods of clearing away heat and dampness, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. At the same time, patients need to keep their bowel movements smooth, do not struggle when going to the toilet, press the anus lightly several times after defecation, and contract the anus 20 times. Those without inflammation do not need external treatment. If there is inflammation and edema, you can use Sophora flavescens decoction or potassium permanganate sitz bath for fumigation and washing, and then apply hemorrhoid ointment externally after fumigation and washing, once a day.

3. Treatment of connective tissue external hemorrhoids

Connective tissue external hemorrhoids do not require special treatment, only general management is required. Patients are required to adjust their bowel habits, avoid squatting on the toilet for too long; take a warm water sitz bath after defecation or before going to bed; and keep the anal skin dry. When inflammatory swelling and pain occur, fumigation and sitting baths can be used, and hemorrhoid ointment, golden ointment, etc. can be applied externally. Antibiotics can also be given appropriately. If the external hemorrhoid flap is too large to affect the cleanliness of the anal area, or if there is recurrent inflammation and edema, surgical treatment may be performed as appropriate.

4. Treatment of inflammatory external hemorrhoids

Inflammatory external hemorrhoids only require adjusting bowel habits to prevent constipation, avoiding drinking alcohol and eating hot and irritating foods, taking potassium permanganate sitz baths after defecation, or using spectrum irradiation treatment. If necessary, apply hemorrhoid ointment once a day. Or take metronidazole (Flagyl) 0.4 grams orally, twice a day. For patients with long-term inflammatory edema, surgical resection can be performed. During the acute stage of inflammatory edema, Chinese medicine is taken internally according to TCM syndrome differentiation, combined with external treatments such as fumigation, washing, and external application.
