What to do if there is a small ball in the testicle

If you find a small lump inside the testicle, it may be a sign of hyperplasia. The most common cause is orchitis. We know that orchitis is a common inflammation of the male reproductive system. If it is not treated well, it will cause repeated inflammatory stimulation, leading to such symptoms. It is also very harmful to men, and in severe cases it can lead to male infertility.

Chinese and Western medicine to fight against acute orchitis

The traditional method of treating orchitis is to use antibiotics, analgesics and surgical drainage. These methods have their own advantages and disadvantages: on the one hand, antibiotics and analgesics can only relieve temporary pain, treat the symptoms but not the root cause, the effect is not immediate, and long-term use will make pathogenic bacteria resistant and have serious side effects. On the other hand, since the disease often coexists with urethritis and prostatitis, which are infectious diseases that are relatively difficult to treat, this directly increases the difficulty of treating orchitis. Especially for those who suffer from repeated episodes of chronic orchitis, they sometimes have to undergo vasectomy or orchiectomy, which brings great harm to the patients.

Western medicine treatment

(1) General treatment: bed rest, local hot compress and scrotal elevation, etc. (2) Antibiotics are ineffective for viral orchitis and Chinese medicine should be used to treat it. Oral administration of fluazifop, 0.2 g each time, 3 times a day; or teligos, 0.2 g each time, 2 times a day, for 5-7 days. Administer penicillin 6.4 million units per day, twice a day, morning and evening, for 3 to 5 days. People who are allergic to penicillin can use intravenous drip of cyclofloxacin lactate injection. Adults can take 200 mg each time, once every 12 hours, for 3-5 days. Gentamycin can also be injected intramuscularly, 80,000 units each time, twice a day, for a course of 3-5 days.

Chinese medicine treatment

(1) Damp-heat descending: fever, aversion to cold, swollen and painful testicles, hard and sticky urine, red and astringent urine, dry stool, red tongue with yellow and greasy coating, and a stringy and slippery pulse. Treatment method: Clear away dampness and heat, detoxify and eliminate carbuncle. Prescription: 10 grams each of Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides, Akebia trifoliata, Plantago seed (wrapped and decocted), Alisma orientalis, Angelica sinensis, Rehmannia glutinosa, 6 grams of Bupleurum chinense, 12 grams of Licorice root, 15 grams of Gentiana scabra, 20 grams each of Honeysuckle and Toosendan. (2) Qi stagnation and blood stasis: The testicles gradually swell and become hard to the touch with slight pain. The tongue has dark edges with ecchymosis, a thin white coating, and a stringy and slippery pulse. Treatment method: Promote Qi and blood circulation, and disperse nodules. Prescription: 10 grams each of tangerine seed, costus root, bitter orange, Magnolia officinalis, Toosendan, peach kernel, Corydalis yanhusuo, 15 grams each of kelp and seaweed, 6 grams of Akebia, 15 grams each of Rehmannia glutinosa, Yuanshen, chrysanthemum, and dandelion, and 30 grams of deer antler. (3) Blood stasis: Testicular trauma causes swelling and pain, or redness, swelling and burning sensation, a blue tongue with bruises on the edges, and a sluggish pulse.

There are three diagnostic criteria for acute orchitis

1. Physical signs: symptoms of mumps or other acute infectious diseases. One or both testicles are enlarged and painful. The boundary with the epididymis is unclear. Sometimes acute hydrocele occurs. 2. Laboratory examination: increased white blood cell count, normal urine test or occasional protein, or microscopic hematuria. Mumps can cause certain damage to kidney function, and special viruses can be detected in urine. 3. Based on clinical manifestations and signs, laboratory tests can confirm the diagnosis. However, it still needs to be differentiated from acute epididymitis clinically. In the early stage of acute orchitis, the inflamed epididymis can be felt, but in the later stage, the boundary between it and the testicle is unclear. The absence of urethral discharge and pyuria indicates the absence of systemic infectious diseases and can help with diagnosis.
