Four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound lateral ventricle enlargement

Four-dimensional color ultrasound is an examination measure, which is used to check various diseases in our human body. Most of us will have regular physical examinations, including four-dimensional color ultrasound. Lateral ventriculomegaly is a common manifestation. It can be treated, but it needs to be discovered early and treated in time, otherwise it will cause some more serious consequences, leading to the occurrence of disease. So what is lateral ventriculomegaly in four-dimensional color ultrasound?

It is recommended that you do not worry and go to a better hospital for a check-up first. Don't worry, we cannot tell whether the condition is serious or not just by looking at the results. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up.

It is normal for the fetal lateral ventricle width to not exceed 10mm, and hydrocephalus can be diagnosed if it is greater than 15mm. According to the results of the color Doppler ultrasound examination, the fetus is currently developing normally. The fetal heart rate, placenta, amniotic fluid and umbilical artery blood flow S/D are all within the normal range. The width of the lateral ventricle may gradually be absorbed as the fetus grows. Just keep a good mood and have regular check-ups.

Generally, there is no need to worry too much about bilateral ventriculomegaly, because many cases are only mild and have no impact. It is better to check again later and have regular prenatal checkups. As long as it does not continue to grow, it will be fine.

It is recommended that pregnant women go to the hospital for regular prenatal check-ups, and pay attention to keeping warm in the morning and evening and eating a balanced diet of meat and vegetables, and eat more blood-enriching ingredients. It is recommended that after reexamination, the widening of the lateral ventricle is reduced, and there is no need to worry if there is no widening.

The normal size of the fetal lateral ventricle should be less than 1 cm. 1 to 1.5 cm is considered mild, and more than 1.5 cm is abnormal.

During the rapid growth period of the fetus, the development of the fetal brain is sometimes faster than the aqueduct system in the brain. When the amount of cerebrospinal fluid produced in the brain is significantly greater than the circulation capacity of the aqueduct system, slight dilation of the ventricular system will occur. If the B-ultrasound examination happens to be performed during this period, the examination results cannot be used as a definitive diagnosis of hydrocephalus. Because this slight expansion will gradually disappear as the aqueduct system in the brain develops and improves.

1. Perform umbilical cord blood puncture as soon as possible to confirm the fetal chromosomes. If the chromosomes are obviously abnormal, the child cannot be kept; if there are no abnormalities in the chromosomes, B-ultrasound follow-up is required.

2. What is the gestational age calculated based on the last menstrual period? Is NT measured within 11-13W?

3. After the chromosome test is normal, if the amount of fluid accumulation is less than 10mm after 32 weeks and shows a downward trend, no deformity is found in the B-ultrasound deformity screening, and the prenatal examination indicators are normal, the child can be kept.

The problem now is that even if umbilical cord blood puncture has certain risks, you must do it because the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The problem is that you need to confirm whether the child's chromosomes are abnormal, which involves the issue of whether the fetus should stay or go. Do you still consider the impact on the fetus at this time? Of course, from a technical point of view, you definitely need to go to a hospital that performs cord blood punctures frequently and has rich experience to minimize this risk, and this technology is also relatively safe. Fetal chromosome testing is now necessary! Otherwise, all diagnoses are without basis.
