What causes finger joint pain?

In our lives, some friends will experience finger joint pain for no reason. When this happens, many patients think that their fingers are accidentally twisted, so they simply perform finger massage. In fact, this is a misunderstanding. Clinical medicine has proven that there are many diseases that can cause finger joint pain. So, what are the specific causes of finger joint pain?

In fact, finger joint pain is mostly caused by some joint diseases, especially for people who usually use their hands more often. Finger joint pain may be caused by aging of the finger joints, but some are caused by joint diseases. The specific causes of the disease are:

1. Osteoarthritis is a common cause of finger joint pain, caused by tissue degeneration and cumulative strain. It is more common in obese and overweight middle-aged and elderly people. Common sites of the disease are the knees, fingers, neck, lumbar spine, etc. The main symptoms are joint pain and stiffness (the pain will be relieved after slight activity). In severe cases, joint swelling and muscle atrophy may occur.

2. Osteoarthritis of joints: swelling and bony growths in the joints - bone spurs. It often occurs at the finger joints, but can also occur at the joints between the fingers. Hyperplastic arthritis usually occurs in older people, often over 40 years old, first appearing in one or several fingers, and then affecting other fingers. The affected joints may become red, swollen and painful. Morning stiffness is common and can be severe but lasts only briefly, less than 20 minutes. X-ray examination showed bone hyperplasia.

3. Rheumatoid arthritis: Hands, wrists, feet, etc. are easily affected joints. In the early stage, there will be redness, swelling, heat, pain and dysfunction of the joints. In the late stage, the joints may have varying degrees of stiffness and deformity, accompanied by atrophy of bones and skeletal muscles, which can easily cause disability.

The above is an introduction to the causes of finger joint pain. You should also be reminded that for elderly friends, as the joints gradually age, finger joint pain will also occur. However, no matter what the cause is, you need to actively seek treatment to prevent finger joint pain from continuing to affect your life.
