Nasal mucosal erosion

Nasal mucosal erosion

Nasal mucosal erosion is a type of nasal mucosal disease. The usual treatment for this disease is very simple. The first step is to find the cause of nasal mucosal erosion and the factors of inflammation. According to the factors of the disease, go to the hospital for corresponding examinations. In this way, you will slowly find that the ulcerated surface of the nose is greatly improved, and the inflammation will subside.

Treatment

The treatment of nasal septum mucosal erosion has a satisfactory effect, which is introduced as follows.

1.1 Clinical Data Twenty-two patients with simple nasal mucosal erosion who had been treated with other methods but had poor results were selected as self-control subjects for observation. Nosebleeds occur more than 5 times a year on average. The cause of bleeding is erosion of the mucosa in the bleeding-prone area of the nasal septum. Relevant examinations are required. Excludes nosebleeds caused by blood system diseases, nasal tumors, trauma and other factors. During the treatment with the patch method, 4 patients took antibiotics and hemostatic drugs and were not included in the observation subjects. Among the 18 cases with complete data, there were 11 males and 7 females, aged 9 to 42 years old. There were 4 cases of unilateral erosion and 14 cases of bilateral erosion, for a total of 32 sides. The erosion area varies in size and severity, and most of them are located in the anterior and inferior part of the nasal septum.

1.2 Treatment method: Take 20 ml of edible honey and put it in a bottle for sterilization. Sterilize a small gauze strip or cotton pad under high pressure. When using, dip a small gauze strip or thin cotton pad in the honey liquid and apply it gently and evenly on the eroded surface, so as not to affect breathing. Take once a day, 3 days as a course of treatment. The same physician observed the symptoms and signs before medication and on the 3rd, 7th, and 10th days after medication, and kept detailed records.

2 Observation and results of therapeutic efficacy The diagnostic standard for therapeutic efficacy was the healing of the erosion surface and the consistency of color of the surrounding mucosa. Among the 32 eroded surfaces, 7 sides (21.9%) were healed after 1 course of treatment, 14 sides (43.8%) were healed after 2 courses of treatment, and 8 sides (28.1%) were healed after 3 courses of treatment. The total effective rate was 93.8%. This group randomly selected 12 cases for follow-up, 2 of which relapsed once after 2 months and were effectively treated with the above medication. The rest of the cases had no relapse within 1 to 2 years.

3 Discussion Erosion of the nasal septum mucosa is mostly caused by the invasion of wind-heat, which causes the accumulated heat in the lungs and stomach to attack the nasal cavity, unblock the blood vessels inside, and burn the nasal membrane outside. Honey is not easy to deteriorate during long-term storage. Studies have found that honey has strong antibacterial and antibacterial effects on many cocci and bacilli. Honey is mild in nature, sweet in taste, and can be taken internally. It affects the human heart, lungs, spleen, and large intestine meridians. External use of honey can reduce the edema of congested and eroded nasal mucosa due to the change in hypertonic osmotic pressure, and promote the healing of erosions and ulcers. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks reportedly embalmed corpses using honey. Therefore, it is not surprising that honey can be taken orally or applied externally to treat various inflammations and traumas. This method is simple and easy, with satisfactory results and no side effects. However, due to the small number of cases, further clinical verification is needed.
