Helicobacter pylori infection test

The principle is that after taking the urea pill, if you are infected with Helicobacter pylori, the urease in your body will break down the urea in the pill and produce CO2. Carbon-13 and carbon-14 tests are both commonly used and relatively sensitive tests for detecting Helicobacter pylori. Compared with carbon-14 testing, carbon-13 is a stable radionuclide, harmless to the human body, with higher sensitivity and specificity, and is more suitable for pregnant women and children.

Although carbon-14 has a certain degree of radioactivity, it is within the safe range for adults and no adverse reports have been found so far.
