Suitable temperature and humidity for human body

It is not that people are very comfortable staying inside at any temperature and humidity. Generally, the room temperature in winter should not exceed 25℃, and in summer it is best not to exceed 28℃. Otherwise, people will experience dizziness, confusion, etc. The humidity is generally best controlled at 40-60%, but this is not absolute. There are many situations. Different seasons and different room temperatures have different requirements for humidity.

According to physiologists, when the indoor temperature is too high, it will affect people's body temperature regulation function, causing high body temperature, vasodilation, faster pulse and heart rate due to poor heat dissipation. In winter, if the indoor temperature is always kept above 25 degrees Celsius, people will feel tired, dizzy, slow thinking and poor memory. At the same time, due to the large temperature difference between indoors and outdoors, the human body is difficult to adapt and is prone to catching colds.

If the indoor temperature is too low, the body's metabolic function will decline, the pulse and breathing will slow down, the subcutaneous blood vessels will contract, the skin will become overly tense, and the resistance of the respiratory mucosa will be weakened, which can easily induce respiratory diseases. Therefore, scientists set the lower limit of human "cold tolerance" and the upper limit of human "heat tolerance" at 11°C and 32°C respectively.

While paying attention to indoor temperature regulation, you should also pay attention to indoor humidity. In summer, when the indoor humidity is too high, it will inhibit the body's heat dissipation, making people feel very stuffy and irritable. In winter, when the indoor humidity is high, heat conduction will be accelerated, making people feel cold and depressed. When the indoor humidity is too low, due to the large amount of water loss of the upper respiratory tract mucosa, people will feel dry mouth, dry tongue, and even sore throat, hoarseness, nose bleeding, etc., and are prone to colds.

Therefore, experts believe that the upper limit of relative humidity should not exceed 80%, and the lower limit should not be lower than 30%.

However, people's physical sensations are not simply affected by two factors, temperature or humidity, but are the result of the combined effect of the two. Through experimental determination, the most comfortable indoor temperature and humidity are: 18 to 25°C and 30% to 80% in winter; 23 to 28°C and 30% to 60% in summer. More than 95% of people feel comfortable within this range. In an air-conditioned room, people will feel most comfortable when the room temperature is between 19 and 24 degrees Celsius and the humidity is between 40% and 50%. If taking into account the influence of temperature and humidity on people's thinking activities, the most suitable room temperature should be 18 ℃, humidity should be 40% to 60%. At this time, people's mental state is good, thinking is most agile and work efficiency is high.
