Herpes is a viral infectious disease that is extremely harmful to the body. Because herpes viruses are malignant viruses, they are difficult to kill and are prone to recurring, causing great pain to patients. The infection of herpes virus generally invades from the outside, among which diet is the most susceptible part. This is why herpes always grows near the mouth. Let’s take a look at the reasons for herpes around the mouth. Cause: This disease is caused by the herpes simplex virus, a DNA virus. Human herpes simplex virus is divided into two types, herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-I) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-II). Type I causes infections primarily of mucous membranes of the skin (oral mucosa) and organs (brain) other than the genitals. Type II mainly causes skin and mucous membrane infections in the genital area. The virus enters the body through the respiratory tract, oral cavity, genital mucosa and broken skin, and resides in the normal mucosa, blood, saliva and sensory ganglion cells of the human body. When the body's resistance is reduced, such as when experiencing fever, gastrointestinal dysfunction, menstruation, fatigue, etc., latent HSV in the body is activated and the disease occurs. Clinical manifestations of herpes simplex virus infection: The infection caused by herpes simplex virus is related to the number of CD4T lymphocytes, and forms ulcerative lesions on the lips, genitals, and perianal area, herpetic whitlow (extensive skin erosion) and other difficult-to-treat lesions with obvious pain. Herpes pneumonia and herpes encephalitis may also be seen. 1. Red spots and blisters appear on the lips, around the nostrils and on the cheeks, causing itching and burning sensation. 2. There are erythema and blisters on the vulva, with a burning and itchy sensation. Treatment 1. Local treatment (1) For blisters or obvious local redness and swelling, apply 3% boric acid solution or normal saline solution until the lesions subside. (2) Apply 1%-2% gentian violet solution to the affected area twice a day. (3) Apply 3% acyclovir ointment topically several times a day. (4) Apply 0.5% neomycin ointment topically. 2. Systemic treatment (1) Immunoglobulin, intramuscular injection, once every other day, for 3 to 4 times in total. (2) Cimetidine: Oral, 3 to 4 times a day, for 5 consecutive days. (3) Take vitamin C, vitamin B2 or vitamin B complex orally. (4) Acyclovir: Oral, 5 times a day. For severe patients, the drug can be administered intravenously. Acyclovir can be added to 5% glucose injection and dripped intravenously, 2 to 3 times a day for 5 consecutive days. |
