The difference between a baby born by caesarean section and a baby born naturally

We all know that since the implementation of the two-child policy, there are more and more people in the obstetrics and gynecology departments of hospitals. Many obstetricians and gynecologists have to induce labor for several women at the same time. Some doctors will recommend caesarean sections to women when they are impatient. If they want a natural birth, they have to give red envelopes to the doctors. Many people want a natural birth because it causes less harm to the body and children born naturally are smarter. So what are the differences between children born by caesarean section and those born naturally?

1. Resistance

Babies born naturally are squeezed by their mother's birth canal during birth. Under this pressure, the amniotic fluid remaining in the baby's lungs and respiratory tract will be squeezed out, promoting lung maturation. The baby is less likely to develop lung diseases and respiratory syndrome after birth. Moreover, after being squeezed by the birth canal, the bacteria and antibodies that are beneficial to the baby attached to the birth canal will quickly enter the baby's body, which can improve the baby's immunity and enhance the baby's resistance to germs.

Babies born by caesarean section are not squeezed by the birth canal and cannot get help from antibodies in the mother's body, so their resistance is relatively weak. In addition, because babies born by caesarean section have less skin contact with their mothers, it will also affect the time for their mothers to secrete milk. Breast milk is very beneficial for improving the baby's immunity. If milk is secreted later, the baby's immunity will naturally decrease.

2. Pneumonia

Statistics show that the probability of pneumonia is higher in caesarean sections than in natural births.

One reason is that during normal delivery, the rhythmic contraction of the uterus squeezes and expands the baby's chest, which is beneficial to the baby's lung activity and gas exchange after birth, and can prevent the baby's aspiration pneumonia.

Second, during normal delivery, the baby is squeezed in the birth canal, which can cause the fluid in the alveoli, trachea and bronchi to flow out of the baby's mouth and nose after birth, which can also effectively prevent aspiration pneumonia.

3. Allergies

The probability of allergies in babies born by caesarean section is higher than that of babies born by natural delivery

Babies born through the birth canal can establish a normal bacterial environment by coming into contact with the bacterial flora of the mother's birth canal and delivery environment, and thus can exert better immune regulation function. However, for babies born by caesarean section, the operation is performed aseptically, which is not conducive to the establishment of normal flora in the body, so they are more likely to develop allergic diseases. At different age groups, they may experience problems such as eczema, allergic rhinitis, and allergic asthma.

4. Intelligence

According to current research results, there is no obvious difference in intellectual development between babies born naturally and babies born by caesarean section. However, cesarean section increases the risk of hypoxia and suffocation during delivery, leading to brain damage and affecting the baby's brain function. Moreover, cesarean section requires anesthesia, and pregnant mothers are prone to a drop in blood pressure during anesthesia. If the blood pressure drops by more than one-third, the blood flow to the uterus and placenta will decrease, causing hypoxia and acidosis in the baby.

In addition, babies born by caesarean section have more respiratory complications, and severe cases may even cause hypoxia and suffocation.
