What causes hemorrhoids? What to eat if you have hemorrhoids

Now, the incidence of hemorrhoids is gradually increasing, but many patients do not know why they suffer from this disease. Through the research of many medical experts in our country, many experts believe that hemorrhoids are mainly caused by the following aspects.

1. Causes of hemorrhoids

Pathology: Thrombosed external hemorrhoids are the most common type of external hemorrhoids. It is often caused by excessive force during defecation, strenuous activity or forceful coughing, which causes the veins at the edge of the anus to rupture, and blood to seep into the connective tissue and form blood clots, forming round or oval lumps of varying sizes under the skin of the anus, located inside the anal canal or outside the anal edge. The lump is soft at first and becomes hard after a few days. At this time, you can apply Xiaole Hemorrhoid Ointment externally. If there is no inflammation, the lump can be completely absorbed and disappear within 3-4 weeks without leaving any trace; if there is repeated inflammation, the connective tissue in the lump will proliferate and it may become connective tissue external hemorrhoids; if infection occurs, an abscess may form. Rupture, bleeding and thrombosis of the subhemorrhoidal venous plexus are often caused by constipation, excessive straining during defecation, lifting heavy objects, coughing, childbirth, etc.

Exposure to cold or heat in the anus, constipation, diarrhea, excessive drinking and eating spicy food can all irritate the anus and rectum, causing congestion in the hemorrhoidal venous plexus, affecting venous blood return and resulting in a decrease in the resistance of the venous wall.

2. Main symptoms of hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are divided into internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids located in the mucosa inside the anus are called "internal hemorrhoids", and those located near the inside of the anus are called "external hemorrhoids". Hemorrhoids that have both conditions are called "mixed hemorrhoids". The symptoms of hemorrhoids are pain in the affected area and blood in the stool. In severe cases, the hemorrhoids will protrude outside the anus (prolapse) and will retract only after defecation. Internal hemorrhoids are the most common, accounting for 52.19% of all anorectal diseases.

3. How to treat hemorrhoids

In fact, early hemorrhoids can be cured by medication: first observe the color and amount of blood in the stool. If there is sudden blood in the stool, bright red, and painless, it is mainly internal hemorrhoids and can be treated conservatively first. Sometimes, even if there is blood on the toilet paper during bowel movement or there is a small amount of fresh blood in the stool but it does not hurt, you can start with conservative treatment, such as using some hemostatic and anti-inflammatory suppositories such as Sulfobellase Hemorrhoid Gel, taking the Chinese medicine Sophora Japonica Pills orally when there is blood in the stool, and taking the Chinese medicine Runchang Pills orally when the stool is dry.

4. What to eat for hemorrhoids

1. Lettuce: It is slightly cold in nature, sweet and bitter in taste, and enters the spleen, stomach, and lung meridians. It has the effects of opening, dredging, and eliminating accumulation. Lettuce is rich in vitamin C, natural folic acid, and iron. Eating lettuce regularly can promote intestinal peristalsis, prevent constipation, reduce pressure on local blood vessels in the anus, and effectively prevent and treat hemorrhoids.

2. Water spinach: also known as hollow vegetable. It is cold in nature and sweet in taste, and can treat constipation, bloody stools and hemorrhoids. Water spinach is most suitable for patients with hemorrhoids who often have dry and hard stools.

3. Leek: It contains more crude fiber and is relatively tough. It is not easily digested and absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. It can increase stool volume, promote large intestine peristalsis, and prevent constipation. Therefore, it is beneficial for people with hemorrhoids and constipation.

4. Spinach: It is cool in nature and sweet in taste. It has the effects of nourishing blood, stopping bleeding, moisturizing dryness, lubricating the intestines and promoting bowel movements.

5. Sweet potato: The fiber it contains can absorb a large amount of water in the intestines, increase the volume of feces, and is very beneficial for promoting gastrointestinal motility and defecation. It is often used to treat hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

6. Cabbage: also known as Brussels sprouts, another name for round cabbage or Chinese cabbage. Cabbage is mild in nature and sweet in taste. Eating more cabbage can increase appetite, promote digestion, prevent constipation, and is an effective food for treating hemorrhoids.

7. White radish: Eating it raw can promote digestion and has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. Its spicy ingredients can promote the secretion of gastric juice and adjust gastrointestinal function. In addition, the rich crude fiber it contains can promote gastrointestinal motility and keep bowel movements smooth.

In fact, the occurrence of a disease like hemorrhoids is also closely related to the patient's daily life. For example, irregular diet and frequent consumption of spicy foods can irritate the intestines. Many factors can cause people to develop hemorrhoids, so if you want to stay away from it, you must have good living habits.
