Pathogenesis: Damp-heat in the liver meridian flows downward and damages the Ren and Dai meridians, causing excessive leucorrhea that is yellow, pus-like, thick, sticky and foul-smelling. Infiltration of damp-heat causes genital itching, or even burning pain. Fumigation of damp-heat causes dizziness, bitter mouth and dry throat. Heat disturbs the mind, causing restlessness. Damp-heat damages body fluids, causing constipation and red urine. A red tongue with yellow and greasy coating and a stringy, slippery and rapid pulse are signs of damp-heat in the liver meridian.

Common symptoms of liver meridian damp-heat syndrome : clinical manifestations of vaginal itching: itching and burning pain in the vagina, excessive vaginal discharge, yellow pus-like, thick and sticky and foul-smelling, dizziness, bitter mouth and dry throat, restlessness, constipation and dark urine, red tongue, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and stringy, slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment principles : Purging the liver and clearing away heat, removing dampness and relieving itching.

Commonly used prescription : Longdan Xiegan Decoction.

Commonly used Chinese medicines : Gentiana, Gardenia, Scutellaria, Akebia, Alisma, Plantago, Bupleurum, Licorice, Angelica, and Rehmannia.

Clinical manifestations of excessive leucorrhea in liver meridian damp-heat syndrome : excessive leucorrhea, yellow or purulent in color, sticky in texture, with a foul odor, or white and sticky leucorrhea, resembling bean dregs, with vulvar itching; lower abdominal pain, bitter and greasy taste in the mouth, chest tightness, poor appetite, short and dark urine, dry and hard stools; red tongue, yellow or greasy yellow tongue coating, and slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment method : clear away heat and dampness, assist with detoxification and insecticidal treatment.

Commonly used prescriptions : prescriptions for stopping leucorrhea.

Commonly used Chinese medicines : Poria, Poria, Plantago, Alisma, Capillaris, Red Peony Root, Cortex Moutan, Phellodendron, Gardenia, Achyranthes Bidentata.

Commonly used acupoints: Daimai, Zhongji, Baihuanshu, Yinlingquan, etc.

Acupuncture therapy : Qimen, Riyue, Yanglingquan, Yinlingquan and other acupoints are used to treat symptoms such as flank pain, bitter taste in the mouth, jaundice, etc. For those with poor appetite, Zhongwan and Zusanli acupoints are added, and the drainage method is used once a day, and the needles are retained for 20 minutes; Guanyuan, Taichong, Yinlingquan, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints are used to treat symptoms such as leucorrhea and genital swelling, and the drainage method is used once a day, and the needles are retained for 20 minutes.
