Dull pain in left kidney

Dull pain in left kidney

If there is a dull pain in the left kidney, you should pay attention to it. There are many reasons for this pain. If it happens to a child, it may be due to calcium deficiency. Other bone diseases may also cause such symptoms. You should go to the hospital for examination in time to find out the specific cause and then receive symptomatic treatment. Let us learn about this aspect below.

Left kidney pain causes

Renal osteodystrophy is a bone metabolic disease caused by chronic renal failure. Referred to as renal osteodystrophy. It manifests as calcium-phosphorus metabolism disorders, acid-base imbalance, skeletal deformities and can cause secondary hyperparathyroidism. The skeletal manifestations include osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteitis fibrosa cystica, bone sclerosis and metastatic calcification. It may cause growth and development disorders in childhood. The purpose of treatment is to relieve symptoms, prevent and treat bone deformities and fractures, hyperphosphatemia and vitamin D deficiency; relieve hyperparathyroidism, prevent metastatic calcification of soft tissue, and enhance bone mineralization. Patients with worsening uremia undergo dialysis or kidney transplantation. In children or adolescents, the disease manifests as poor development and weak muscles; duck gait when walking, with genu valgum or varus; swelling of the metaphysis or the junction of the rib cartilage, and slippage of the epiphysis at the upper end of the femur; severe cases can cause femoral neck osteitis fibrosa. Adults present with symptoms of osteomalacia and tenderness in the area of Looser degeneration.

Pathological changes (1) There is excess osteoid in the bone tissue. (2) Enlarged parathyroid glands. (3) Soft tissue calcification. (4) There are primary pathological changes in the kidneys and urinary tract that cause renal failure.

Kidney pain diagnosis and differential diagnosis

It is not difficult to make a diagnosis based on a comprehensive analysis of clinical symptoms, X-ray signs and laboratory test findings. There are 4 types of renal osteodystrophy, depending on the rate of bone turnover. 1. High-turnover bone disease is pathologically called osteitis fibrosa, which is characterized by hyperparathyroidism, active proliferation of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, and fibrosis around trabeculae. 2. Low-turnover bone disease includes osteomalacia and non-dynamic bone disease. The former refers to defects in the mineralization of newly formed osteoid, often caused by aluminum deposition. The latter refers to decreased bone formation, which is often related to factors such as hypercalcemia, excessive inhibition of PTH secretion by the use of 1,25(OH)D3, and diabetes. 3. Mixed bone disease has the characteristics of both high-turnover and low-turnover bone diseases. It is caused by hyperparathyroidism and bone mineralization disorders, and is characterized by the coexistence of increased osteoid and medullary fibrosis, with variable bone turnover rate. 4. β2-microglobulin amyloid osteoarthritis The above are some scientific explanations given by professionals for renal osteodystrophy, so patients should not be overly anxious when encountering this disease. In our daily life, we should pay more attention to maintenance and eat more nutritious substances to keep the body well-nourished. Pay more attention to rest and eat on time, which will help the disease get better.
