Leucorrhea turns yellow after sex

Leucorrhea turns yellow after sex

For women, if the leucorrhea turns yellow after sexual intercourse, they should pay attention to it. It may be caused by some gynecological diseases. They should go to the hospital for examination in time. We know that the color of women's leucorrhea can reflect whether their reproductive system is healthy. If the leucorrhea is always yellowish, it may be caused by vaginitis. They must pay attention to it in daily life.

Is your vaginal discharge normal in color?

1. Colorless, transparent, sticky leucorrhea: It is egg white-like and similar in properties to the mucus secreted by the cervical glands during ovulation, but the amount is significantly increased. Generally, the possibility of chronic endocervicitis, ovarian dysfunction, vaginal adenosis, or well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma should be considered. 2. White or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea: It is a characteristic of Trichomonas vaginitis and may be accompanied by vulvar itching. 3. Curd-like leucorrhea: It is a characteristic of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching or burning pain. 4. Gray, homogeneous leucorrhea with a fishy smell: common in bacterial vaginosis. 5. Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellow-green in color, sticky, and often smelly. It can be caused by acute vaginitis, cervicitis, and endocervicitis caused by bacteria such as Trichomonas or gonococci. Pyometra, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer or foreign objects retained in the vagina can also cause pus-like leucorrhea. 6. Bloody leucorrhea: If there is blood mixed in the leucorrhea, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical polyps or submucosal fibroids should be considered. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause bloody leucorrhea. 7. Watery leucorrhea: Continuous discharge of watery leucorrhea like rice washing water with a pungent odor is usually caused by advanced cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, or submucosal fibroids with infection. If you have intermittent discharge of yellow or red watery vaginal discharge, you should be aware of the possibility of fallopian tube cancer.

Abnormal vaginal discharge may be caused by bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis is the main cause of pathological leucorrhea in women, revealing the unknown secrets of leucorrhea. It accounts for about 50% of the increase in leucorrhea caused by vaginal inflammation. When the acidic environment of the vagina changes and the number of normally existing lactobacilli decreases or disappears, anaerobic bacteria multiply in large numbers, causing symptoms. The vaginal discharge from bacterial vaginosis has a distinctive fishy odor, which is worse after sex. The color is mainly grayish white or grayish yellow, thinner and more uniform. Trichomonas vaginitis If the leucorrhea is yellow or yellow-green, thin, foamy and purulent, and is accompanied by unbearable itching of the vulva and vagina, the possibility of Trichomonas vaginitis is very high. Trichomonas vaginitis is transmitted through contact, and sexual contact is one of the most important routes of infection. Vaginal secretion testing can confirm the diagnosis.

Once the not-so-excessive leucorrhea appears in the form of a thick white paste or curd, and you can also find a white film at the outer opening of the vagina, revealing the unknown secrets of the leucorrhea. When you wipe off the white film, you can see a rough, red, erosive surface, then you need to pay attention to candidal vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis is usually a vaginal inflammation caused by Candida albicans, and laboratory tests can help to confirm the diagnosis.
