Yellow urine with a strong odor in late pregnancy

Women who have had pregnancy experience generally know that the late pregnancy is close to the time when the baby is born. When entering the late pregnancy, the pregnant woman's body will have various reactions, especially in terms of urination. Many pregnant women will find that they urinate very frequently in the late pregnancy, and the urine is yellow. What surprises pregnant women most is that the urine has a strong fishy smell. So is it normal for the urine to be yellow and have a strong fishy smell in the late pregnancy?

Why does women's urine turn yellow and have an odor? In addition to being related to certain diseases, yellow urine with an odor is also related to the current phenomenon of the individual. It may also be caused by other factors such as diet and will disappear soon. Normal urine is light yellow in color. It is clearer when it is cold and yellower when it is hot. This is related to sweating and how much water you drink, but it can also change with diet. If you consume an acidic diet, your urine will be dark in color, and if you consume an alkaline diet, your urine will be light in color. Changes in urine color like these are extremely short-lived and will quickly resolve on their own.

Normal fresh urine is light yellow in color because it contains a yellow pigment called urochrome. However, the color of urine can also be dark or light depending on the amount of water you drink. If you drink more water and urinate more, the proportion of urochrome in the urine will be smaller, and the color will be lighter; if you drink less water, the proportion of urochrome in the urine will be larger, and the color will appear yellow. If the urine is left for some time, the color of the urine will become darker. This is because some of the urochrome in the urine has been oxidized into urochrome. The waste produced by the human body and the urine pigments excreted every day are generally relatively constant, so the color of urine will not change much. 96%-99% of urine is water, and most of the rest is waste, such as uric acid, creatinine, etc.

The normal daily urine volume of a person is 1000-2000 ml, among which women's is 1000-1500 ml. The urine is light yellow in color and transparent without any precipitation or turbidity. Freshly excreted urine has a special grassy aroma. After being left for a long time, due to decomposition, the urine becomes yellow with a strong odor. This is normal and pregnant women do not need to worry too much.
