19 weeks pregnant and still vomiting

You will continue to experience some physiological reactions in the first three months after pregnancy. The first is morning sickness. If you still experience morning sickness at the 19th week of pregnancy, you should consider that the pregnancy is prolonged. Some people have weak constitutions and poor gastrointestinal function, and the reactions during pregnancy will lead to increased symptoms of pregnancy. Most of the pregnant women here are relatively weak and need to pay attention to rest.

Medical Definition

Also known as the pregnancy period, a physiological term. It is the process of development and maturation of the embryo and fetus in the mother's body. The period of time from the fertilization of a woman's egg to the expulsion of the fetus and its appendages from the mother's body. For ease of calculation, pregnancy is usually counted from the first day of the last menstrual period, which is approximately 280 days (40 weeks). Since it is difficult to determine the date of egg fertilization with absolute accuracy, the actual delivery date may differ from the estimated due date by 1-2 weeks. Clinically, pregnancies between 37 and 42 weeks are classified as full-term pregnancies.

Calculation of gestational age

The cyclical changes of the endometrium are the reason for the menstrual cycle. Only when the endometrium develops to a certain extent can the fertilized egg implant, and only after the fertilized egg implants can an embryo be formed. A new menstrual cycle begins on the first day of menstruation each month, so the gestational age is calculated based on the menstrual cycle.

The gestation period is generally 280 days (40 weeks). Usually when we talk about a 10-month pregnancy, we calculate it based on 4 weeks per month. The usual method for calculating the expected date of delivery is to add 9 or subtract 3 from the month of the last menstrual period, and then add 7 days to get the expected date of delivery (the so-called last menstrual period should be the first day of the last menstrual period). Let’s use the following example to calculate the expected date of delivery: the last menstrual period was March 1, and the expected date of delivery is December 8 of the same year. If the last menstrual period was on April 1, it is more convenient to subtract 3, and the expected date of delivery should be January 8 of the following year. At present, some areas are still accustomed to using the lunar calendar. When calculating, you should add 9 or subtract 3 to the month of the last menstrual period, and add 15 to the number of days. The resulting number is the expected date of delivery in the lunar calendar.

Adverse Reactions

Leg pain

It is easy to occur in the back of the thighs and calves, especially at night, and is often accompanied by spasms and cramps. This is a manifestation of calcium and vitamin deficiency, and calcium tablets and vitamin B complex should be supplemented.

Chest pain

It often occurs between the ribs and resembles neuralgia. Some people experience pain in the liver area or on both sides of the spine in the back. This is due to calcium deficiency and calcium supplements should be taken.

Arm pain

Pain when sleeping with the arm under the head, or pain in the arm, inability to raise it, or cramping pain and a crawling sensation. This is due to changes in the spinal bones after pregnancy, which compresses the nerves. It will heal itself without medical treatment after delivery.

Headache: Headaches can occur during early pregnancy. Headache can also occur in late pregnancy and is one of the symptoms of pregnancy-induced hypertension. Active treatment is required at this time, otherwise convulsions, coma, and even life-threatening conditions may occur.

stomachache

After pregnancy, the retrograde peristalsis of the stomach causes the acidic contents in the stomach to reflux into the esophagus, throat and mouth, irritating the mucosa and causing it. A semi-sitting position can be adopted, and aluminum hydroxide gel can be taken orally.

stomach ache

In the early stages of pregnancy, the uterus may tilt retroverted or the pelvis may become congested, causing pulling pain or a feeling of falling in the pelvic area. If you have severe abdominal pain and spotting in your lower body, be careful of ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage and go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately. In the second half of pregnancy, the uterus enlarges and may cause traction and pain. At this time, you can take a side-lying position, keep your bowels open, and pay attention to rest.

Pains that may occur during pregnancy include low back pain: endocrine changes after pregnancy cause joint ligaments to relax. As the fetus develops, the uterus enlarges, the abdomen protrudes forward in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the center of gravity must move backward, the lumbar spine protrudes forward, and the back muscles remain tense, so there is mild low back pain. At this time, you should pay attention to rest, avoid standing and walking for a long time, and the pain can be relieved after resting in bed; do appropriate exercise in daily life to strengthen the flexibility of the back muscles; avoid lifting heavy objects; sleep on a hard mattress and wear light shoes. If the pain is obvious, the cause should be found out in time. If some pregnant women experience pain in the lower back and right lower abdomen, and symptoms of urinary tract infection such as urgency and frequency of urination, this is a pregnancy complication of "ovarian vein syndrome" and they should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
