What to do if your skin is bitten by a child

When children are playing together, they often bump into each other. Sometimes when there is a dispute between children on both sides, some children will bite others in excitement. Although it is wrong for children to bite others, some treatment is still required after being bitten by children. In such cases, if the parents cannot handle it well, they should take the child to the hospital for treatment.

What should you do if your skin is bitten by a child? Depending on the severity of the wound, you can take oral anti-inflammatory drugs, change the local dressing regularly, or wipe it with iodine and then apply a wet compress with furazolidone gauze. In terms of diet, you should pay attention to eating light food and avoid eating greasy and other irritating foods.

If the wound has inflammation and some exudation, the specific methods are as follows: ① Thorough debridement is very important. Use plenty of hydrogen peroxide and furazolidone solution to rinse and scrub to inhibit the growth of anaerobic bacteria. For deeper wounds, the wound must be cleaned to the bottom. ② Open wound. Human bite wounds should not be sutured. Leave the wound open and fully exposed. ③ Adequate drainage. For deep wounds, drainage strips should be placed after debridement, and they should be placed at the bottom of the wound to prevent the skin on the wound surface from healing prematurely. ④ Apply antibiotics locally or systemically, and the wound surface can be wetted with iodine or chlorhexidine tincture. For systemic antibiotics, cephalosporins can be used in combination with anti-anaerobic antibiotics such as nitroazoles or quinolones. ⑤ Human bite wounds generally take a long time to heal. For minor injuries, it usually takes about a week for the dressing to be changed before fresh granulation tissue grows. Severely injured wounds require dressing changes for 2 to 3 weeks to allow fresh granulation tissue to grow. Systemic antibiotics are generally used for 1 to 3 weeks, and after healing, the medication should be consolidated for another week depending on the condition of the wound. ⑥ If there is no infection in the wound, it can be sutured or allowed to heal naturally depending on the condition of the wound. ⑦ Patients bitten by humans should be injected with tetanus antitoxin in the early stage.

How to deal with pet bites : 1. Rinse the wound. Wash the wound with soap under running water for at least 15 minutes, and irrigate deeper wounds. 2. Disinfection. Clean the wound with 75% alcohol or iodine, and do not bandage the wound after cleaning. 3. Go to the local hospital or epidemic prevention department to get rabies vaccine. If necessary, inject antitoxin serum and immunoglobulin. Injection time: 5 injections on the same day, 3, 7, 14, and 28. Injection site: deltoid muscle of upper arm.
