Symptoms of the flu

The so-called flu is influenza, which occurs basically every year. If a person has a low immune system, he or she will definitely have cold symptoms at this time, which has a relatively large impact on people's lives. And influenza is indeed contagious to a certain extent. It is quite contagious. Influenza is generally transmitted through droplets.

Influenza is very common in spring and autumn. Although influenza has a certain degree of self-limitation, its infectiousness cannot be ignored. Moreover, the source of influenza infection is not only influenza patients. Many invisible virus carriers are also contagious. So, what are the symptoms of flu?

Simple influenza: the most common, often with sudden onset, chills and high fever, body temperature can reach 39-40℃, often accompanied by headache, muscle and joint pain, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite and other systemic symptoms, often with sore throat, dry cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, discomfort behind the sternum, etc. Facial flushing and mild hyperemia of the outer canthus of the conjunctiva. If there are no complications, the disease is a self-limiting process. The body temperature gradually subsides and systemic symptoms improve 3-4 days after onset, but it usually takes 1-2 weeks for cough and physical recovery. Mild influenza is similar to the common cold, with mild symptoms and recovery within 2-3 days.

Pneumonic influenza: It is essentially a complication of influenza virus pneumonia, which is more common in the elderly, children, and people with existing heart and lung diseases. The main symptoms are persistent high fever, severe cough, coughing up blood or purulent sputum, rapid breathing, cyanosis, and moist rales in the lungs. Chest X-ray showed scattered flocculent shadows in both lungs. No pathogenic bacteria grew in sputum culture, but influenza virus could be isolated. Death may occur due to respiratory and circulatory failure, and the mortality rate is high.

Toxic influenza: extremely rare, characterized by severe symptoms such as high fever, shock, respiratory failure, central nervous system damage and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), with a high mortality rate.

Gastrointestinal influenza: In addition to fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea are the most notable symptoms, and children are more likely to suffer from it than adults. It will take 2-3 days to recover.

Now that you know the symptoms of influenza, I hope that parents, friends and pregnant women will pay attention to preparations to prevent influenza during the spring and autumn seasons when influenza is prone to break out. Especially for pregnant women, they must be careful not to get infected with influenza, otherwise it will easily affect the development of the fetus in the womb and affect your baby.
