Early symptoms of AIDS

Early symptoms of AIDS

AIDS is the most common sexually transmitted disease. It is a disease caused by immunodeficiency. Sexual transmission, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission are the main routes of transmission. There is currently no complete cure. If high-risk sexual behavior occurs, it may lead to the spread of AIDS, which may cause patients to experience some cold-like symptoms, such as sore throat, joint pain, low fever, etc.

Early symptoms of AIDS

1. Acute symptoms of AIDS

Some people may also develop early symptoms of male AIDS in the early stages of infection, with an incidence rate of about 50%. The main manifestations are fever, dizziness, weakness, sore throat, joint pain, rash, swollen superficial lymph nodes throughout the body and other "cold"-like symptoms. Some people may also have diarrhea. This symptom usually disappears after 1-2 weeks, after which the male HIV-infected person enters an asymptomatic latent period.

2. Symptoms of HIV incubation period

Most people have no symptoms during the incubation period, but a small number of adult men will have swollen lymph nodes and neurological symptoms during the incubation period of AIDS, mainly dizziness, depression, memory loss, movement and language disorders, acute aseptic meningitis, manifested as headache, neurological symptoms and meningeal irritation, etc. Lymph node enlargement is also a hallmark symptom of the latent period and has been found in a small number of adult men throughout the entire cycle of HIV infection.

3. Symptoms of opportunistic infections in the late stage of AIDS

There may be obvious clinical manifestations such as fever, fatigue, night sweats, uncontrollable weight loss (>10%), persistent diarrhea, and persistent fever (>38℃) for more than 3 months. There may also be severe clinical manifestations of immunodeficiency, such as slow cellular immune response, opportunistic infections and malignant tumors, which can affect all systems and organs of the body, and there are often multiple pathogens causing coexistence of infections and tumors.

The main symptoms of AIDS in adult males are those listed above. If you have any questions, you can consult our experts. AIDS symptoms cannot be used as a basis for diagnosis because these symptoms are not specific and are not unique to AIDS. They may be caused by other diseases. Therefore, the health department stipulates that the diagnosis of AIDS can only be made based on a positive result of an AIDS antibody test.
