How to treat chronic enteritis in babies

Enteritis has become a very common disease nowadays. Due to factors such as improper diet and excessive stress, many people have suffered from enteritis. But at the same time, many people also believe that only adults can get enteritis. In fact, many babies can do this too. Moreover, when babies suffer from enteritis, they may suffer from diarrhea, which may cause parents to ignore the fact that they have enteritis. So what should we do if our baby has chronic enteritis?

Traditional Chinese medicine does not have a name for chronic enteritis, but based on the clinical characteristics of the disease, it falls into the category of chronic abdominal pain and chronic diarrhea in traditional Chinese medicine. The causes of the disease can be seen as spleen and stomach weakness, kidney yang deficiency, liver qi invading the spleen, and blood stasis blocking the intestinal meridians. The location of the disease is in the spleen and stomach, and is closely related to the liver and kidneys. The nature of the disease is a mixture of deficiency in the root and excess in the superficial symptoms. The root cause is the dysfunction of the spleen, stomach, liver and kidney, and the secondary one is gastrointestinal dysfunction, which leads to pathological changes such as disorder of qi and blood, imbalance of internal organs, and disharmony of yin and yang. Its clinical characteristics are that clear and turbid substances are not separated and mix together, flowing down to the large intestine and causing diarrhea.

How to prevent your baby from getting enteritis

1. Diseases come from the mouth

Babies like to put their hands or clothes into their mouths, and sometimes they will pick up small objects around them to play with them. This can easily infect babies with various viruses. Clean your baby's body, as well as the toys and small items around him regularly.

2. Let your baby eat until he is full

Many mothers think that their babies must eat when they are hungry, or even that they can eat one kind of food until they are full. However, this will often cause too much high-sugar and high-fat substances to accumulate in the baby's body, which will cause gastrointestinal indigestion in the baby. Babies should also eat in moderation, just like adults, it is OK when they are 70% to 80% full.

3. Parents carry germs

Many babies get sick because of their parents' carelessness. Adults want to express their love to their babies through mouth-to-mouth communication, but they don't realize that this has already spread the germs that cause illness to the babies. Love also requires hygiene and distance. Take care of your own hygiene before getting close to your baby.

4. Give your baby cold food

Some babies may become greedy when they see adults eating cold food. As parents who love their children, they will definitely not want to see their babies cry. So, I just hold the baby and let him eat a small amount. But just this small amount can cause diarrhea and so on in your baby. When encountering this situation, parents should find ways to divert the baby's attention, or use hot milk powder to replace cold food.

Foods that are boiled for a long time

Experienced mothers generally do not let their babies eat food that has been cooked in a pot for a long time, because they know that their babies will vomit after eating such food. Not all adult foods can be eaten by babies, so you need to pay attention to what your children eat.

6. Carbonated drinks

Carbonated drinks taste fragrant and sweet, and adults are often fascinated by them. So some mothers can't help themselves and let their babies try it, but this can cause their babies to have hiccups and abdominal distension. Carbonated drinks are not suitable for babies and must be prohibited.

7. Take medicine without drinking water

When a baby is sick and needs to take medicine, a careless mother may think that drinking too much water will weaken the effectiveness of the medicine. However, if the medicine is not taken with water, it is very likely to remain in the baby's esophagus, which may cause adverse reactions such as esophageal burns. Let your baby drink some water before taking the medicine, and then drink some water after taking the medicine to completely flush the medicine into the stomach.
