What to do if bitten by a bed bug

Many people have experienced being bitten by mat beetles in the summer. Mat beetles are a particularly common insect. In the summer, many people will put mats on the bed and sleep, which will inevitably produce mat beetles. They are very small and not easy to find, so it is normal to be bitten. If you are bitten, don't worry. Remember not to scratch it, as it can easily cause infection. You can apply some medicine to treat it.

Mat bugs are a type of small insect that easily breeds in straw mats. They are very small, but can still be seen with the naked eye. Mat bugs are mostly found in the south of the Yangtze River and prefer temperatures between 28℃ and 35℃. Now is the transition period between summer and autumn, when bed bugs are most active.

In addition to mat bugs, there are also smaller dust mites and even fleas on the mat. Insect bite dermatitis, also known as papular dermatitis or pediatric papular dermatitis, caused by bites from such insects is a common allergic skin disease in infants and young children.

Once you notice similar insect bite symptoms, keep the affected area clean and dry, and avoid scratching frequently to prevent secondary infection. Once there is damage and infection, it is best to go to the hospital. The doctor will use some antibiotic ointments depending on the situation to achieve better therapeutic effects.

If the sting is severe and there is a large area of redness and swelling, you can apply a wet compress with a weak alkaline solution such as sodium bicarbonate. The mat needs to be scrubbed, exposed to the sun, and scalded with boiling water. However, these methods can only reduce the number of bed bugs, but cannot completely eliminate them. To better eliminate mat bugs, you need to slap the mat hard, or roll the mat into a roll, stand it upright, and hit it like driving a pile, so that the mat bugs can be knocked down by inertia. Then, scrub, expose to the sun, scald with boiling water, etc. to eliminate the remaining mat insects.

Judging from the situation, this may be an insect bite dermatitis, which can be treated by applying cooling oil and a small amount of table salt to the skin. Prevent the appearance of insects. After being bitten, relevant treatment must be carried out in a timely manner. If it cannot be handled, we must send the patient to the hospital for treatment in time.

It is recommended that oral antihistamines have a better therapeutic effect. You can use 1% menthol calamine lotion or 1% menthol cream and glucocorticoid cream externally to relieve itching and inflammation. Pay attention to environmental hygiene and avoid suspicious food.
