Can I hold a baby while pregnant?

In life, we often hear the older generation say that you cannot hold a baby during pregnancy because it is easy to get hurt. In fact, most people think this is a very outdated concept because they will not get hurt according to their physical condition. In fact, pregnant women are prone to getting hurt when holding a baby because it will cause damage to the waist, and it may also kick the fetus, compress it, and even cause premature birth, so try not to hold the baby.

1. It is easy to cause back injury

It becomes very inconvenient for women to move after pregnancy. As the belly grows, pregnant women will unconsciously lean back, which makes the waist very vulnerable. Normally, I would feel back pain after standing for a while. My family also took the pregnant women’s condition into consideration and would not let them do heavy work, such as lifting heavy objects, bending over to mop the floor, etc. If a pregnant woman holds a baby, her waist will definitely be exerted, and she may hurt her waist if she is not careful. Especially for pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy, the development of the fetus is still unstable. If they injure their waist while holding the baby, it will increase the chance of miscarriage.

2. The child may kick the fetus

When children are young, they are active, ignorant, and have no sense of propriety. When a pregnant woman holds a baby, the baby usually does not stay still, but moves around. When a child moves, he or she may accidentally kick the pregnant woman's belly. If this happens, the damage to the fetus is unknown. In serious cases, there is a risk of miscarriage. Therefore, it is best for pregnant women to avoid holding babies, so as to better protect the fetus.

In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, although the fetus's development is stable, you still cannot be careless. When you are holding a baby, if the baby kicks you in the stomach or injures your waist, it may cause uterine contractions. If the contractions are severe, there is a risk of premature birth. Pregnant women must not think that they are not that hypocritical and take chances. If they really hurt the fetus, it will be too late to regret.

Tao Ma said: In the minds of the older generation, there may be superstitious beliefs that if a pregnant woman holds a baby, the baby will be difficult to take care of after birth or will suffer from diarrhea. But from a scientific point of view, this does make sense. Therefore, it is best for pregnant women to take good care of the fetus and not try anything that may harm the fetus. You cannot joke about the health of the fetus.
