Can scars be exposed to the sun?

When scars appear, you must be aware of some taboos. For example, it is best not to expose scars to direct sunlight, because such exposure will cause melanin deposition on the scars, cause adverse stimulation to the scars, and even cause scar hyperplasia. If scratches appear in daily life, you must strengthen care and pay attention to diet adjustments. If the situation is more serious, you must receive formal treatment.

Daily wound care methods

In daily life, if you are accidentally scalded or burned by water, fire, oil, etc., if the area is not large, you can immediately take 1 part of white sugar and 3 parts of cold boiled water to make a concentrated sugar water, use cotton wool or a clean small towel dipped in the sugar water to gently apply and press the injured area. If a finger or toe is injured, soak it immediately in sugar water for 20 minutes. If you don't have time to prepare sugar water, you can also grab some sugar and apply it to the wound, then drop cold water on the sugar to moisten the wound, and then wash it after 2 hours. If it has not healed yet, apply concentrated sugar water again. Using sugar water to treat burns will not cause blistering or scarring and is very effective.

First remove the heat source and soak the limb in cool water until the pain disappears. You can also cover the injured area with a wet towel or sheet and spray cold water on it. Do not break any blisters. Burns can be divided into first-degree burns (erythematous, the skin becomes red and there is a burning pain), second-degree burns (vesicular, blisters appear on the affected area), and third-degree burns (necrotic, skin peeling off).

Minor burns can be treated at home

After cleaning the wound, you can apply Jingwanhong, Mebo moisturizing burn ointment, etc. For large-area burns, it is advisable to send to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible. The most important thing for burn wounds is to shave the hair in the injured area and nearby areas, and cut off excessively long nails. Wash the healthy skin around the wound with soap and water, and then wipe and disinfect it with 0.1% Sanisol solution or 75% alcohol.

Clean the wound with isotonic saline to remove foreign matter and dirt on the wound, protect small blisters from being damaged, and use an empty injection needle to draw out the blister fluid from large blisters. For broken blisters or those with severe contamination, the blister skin should be cut off, the wound surface should be gently rolled open with gauze, covered with a layer of liquid paraffin gauze or a thin layer of vaseline gauze, plus multiple layers of absorbent gauze and cotton pads, and bandaged with a bandage to apply even pressure. Bandage therapy, exposure method, etc. can also be used for burns. Burns are often prone to infection, so antibiotics should be used and tetanus antitoxin can also be injected.
