How do hemangiomas form?

Many people are usually concerned about hemangiomas. We all know that the formation of hemangiomas may cause many problems. For example, the main reason why many infants have hemangiomas is the disorder of blood vessel growth and formation. Some are congenital, some are acquired, and most are caused by trauma.

There is currently no definite conclusion on what causes infantile hemangiomas, and we can only observe based on our usual clinical work experience. However, there are no good preventive measures for the occurrence of hemangiomas. For hemangiomas that have already occurred, the emphasis is on early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment. For the very few hemangiomas that show a malignant growth trend, appropriate intervention and treatment measures should be taken in a timely manner after discovery.

1. Congenital, which is not discovered in infancy or only manifests symptoms in adulthood.

2. Hemangiomas are not treated thoroughly in infancy and childhood, so they are not cured or recur in adulthood.

3. Hemangioma caused by trauma.

There are roughly two possibilities for hemangioma caused by trauma: one is that the patient already has symptoms of hemangioma, but is missed because the symptoms are not obvious and typical; this is common in deeper cavernous hemangiomas; the other is vascular malformation caused by compression or injury of blood vessels due to trauma. Both conditions may show abnormal colors such as blue, purple, or purplish red on the skin. If the area is deeper, it may only appear as a raised lump.
