Precautions after Sanfu moxibustion

There are many types of acupuncture, and different types of acupuncture can achieve different health care effects. Nowadays, there are many health care stores on the streets, and there are so many acupuncture items in these health care stores that we don’t know how to choose. In summer, we can choose Sanfu moxibustion, which can clear away heat and detoxify the body and achieve the effect of maintenance. So, what is the effect of Sanfu moxibustion? What should we pay attention to after Sanfu moxibustion?

1. Operation method

Select several Chinese medicinal herbs such as Corydalis yanhusuo and white mustard seeds, grind them into powder in proportion, add ginger juice to make it into a paste, and stick the paste on the acupuncture points with adhesive tape. The medicine is applied once every day on the corresponding acupuncture points. The acupuncture points used for various diseases are different. Adults generally apply the medicine for 2 to 4 hours, and children apply it for 1 to 2 hours. The skin will feel warm and burning after applying the medicine. Everyone's skin tolerance is different, so it should be within the tolerance range. After applying the patch, the local skin of most people will feel burning and redness. If blisters form on the skin over the acupoints, the effect will be better, proving that the applied medicine has penetrated into the acupoint meridians through the skin and reached the diseased area directly through the meridians' qi and blood. The course of patch therapy is three years. For patients with long course of illness, the course of treatment can be appropriately extended.

2. Indications

Sanfu moxibustion utilizes the principle of "treating winter diseases in summer" to treat diseases that are common in winter in summer, in order to prevent and reduce the onset of symptoms in winter. Sanfu moxibustion is a widely acclaimed traditional Chinese medicine treatment, but it cannot cure all diseases. It is mainly suitable for two types of diseases: one is allergic diseases, such as asthma, recurrent respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, etc.), chronic bronchitis in the elderly and colds that children are prone to in winter; the other is diseases related to deficiency and cold, such as stomachache, colitis, joint pain, deficiency and cold headache, low back pain caused by kidney deficiency and other diseases.

3. Notes

Some people will feel itchy 4 to 6 hours after applying Chinese medicine. This is a natural reaction after the medicine penetrates into the epidermis; some people will experience redness, swelling, heat and pain. If blisters appear on the skin, you should pay attention to protect the wound surface to prevent infection. Do not scratch it after blisters appear. A small number of blisters can be waited for to be absorbed by themselves. Large blisters can be punctured with a sterilized needle to extract the fluid, and 5% iodine solution can be applied externally. The affected area should be exposed to avoid covering it.

Although the Sanfu moxibustion therapy has good effects, some of the Chinese medicines used are toxic and some are highly irritating to the skin. Therefore, pregnant women, the elderly and infirm, children under 2 years old (whose skin is more delicate and prone to infection), and patients with skin allergies should use it with caution or prohibit it. During the application period, you should avoid eating raw, cold, irritating foods, do not be greedy for coolness, and do not eat fatty, greasy, phlegm-producing and dampness-producing foods, such as beef, duck, goose, peanuts and other fried foods. Avoid eating seafood, shrimp and other foods that are prone to inflammation.

It should also be noted that you should not shower or take a bath within 10 hours after applying the medicine; if your skin has blisters or is damaged, or if you suffer from diseases such as tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, acute pharyngitis, etc., you should not use Sanfujixibustion for treatment.
