Relieve stiff neck symptoms through acupuncture

1. Pointers

1. Acupuncture points

Main acupoints: The main ones are Waiguan acupoint, Neiguan acupoint and Ashi acupoint.

Associated acupoints: Fengchi, Jianjing, Jianzhen, Yanglao, Tianzhu, Fengfu, Dazhui and Ideal acupoint.

Ideal acupoint location: midpoint between Fengchi and Jianjing points.

(II) Governing Law

The main acupoints are the priority, and additional acupoints can be added when the effect is not good. First, gently tap or press the painful area, i.e. the Ashi point, for 1 minute. The operator pinches and presses the patient's Neiguan acupoint with his thumb and presses the middle finger or index finger on the Waiguan acupoint for 2 to 3 minutes each time, using force from light to heavy, so that the pressure penetrates from Neiguan to Waiguan. The patient may feel soreness, numbness, swelling, heat, or similar feelings of qi being transmitted to the patient.

During the pinching process, the patient must rotate his neck back and forth.

For the combined acupoints, press the Fengchi acupoint 20 times with one hand and the Jianjing acupoint 20 times with both hands. For the other acupoints, you can use finger pressure, or push and press up and down and left and right, for 1 to 2 minutes on each acupoint. The above method is applied once a day, and 3 times constitute a course of treatment.

2. Ear acupuncture

1. Acupuncture points

Main acupoints: neck, Shenmen.

(II) Governing Law

Both main acupoints on both sides are used. Take 1 to 2 mung beans, place them in a 1×1 square centimeter square cut from commercially available blood-activating and analgesic ointment or injury-inducing and analgesic ointment, stick it on the selected ear acupoint, and press the edges tightly.

Afterwards, press the ear point for 0.5 to 1 minute, from light to heavy, until you feel heat, swelling and pain, and ask the patient to move his neck for 2 to 3 minutes. Patients are required to press the patch three times a day and remove it after recovery.

3. Acupuncture

1. Acupuncture points

Main acupoint: Dazhui.

Matching acupoint: Jianjing.

(II) Governing Law

Ask the patient to sit upright in a chair with the head tilted forward. After locating the acupoint, the needle tip is tilted toward the affected side and the depth of the needle is about 0.5 to 1 inch, so that the needle sensation is transmitted to the neck and shoulder on the affected side. After getting the qi, the operator presses the shoulder well point on the affected side with one hand, allowing the patient to move his neck to the left and right as much as possible.

At the same time, twist the needle with the other hand for 3 to 4 minutes. If the effect is not significant, take a moxa stick about 5 cm long, insert it into the needle handle and light it, remove the needle after moxibustion is completed, and apply cupping on the acupoint area for 10 to 15 minutes. Once a day.
