Revolutionary grass, also known as hollow lotus seed grass, is also a traditional Chinese medicine. It has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying. It tastes bitter and can treat diseases such as measles and encephalitis. There are several ways to cook revolutionary grass. In addition to being used as a traditional Chinese medicine, it can also be used in daily cooking. Its edible value and medicinal value are very high, but you should pay attention to controlling its amount.

I guess many people don’t know what revolutionary grass is, but many people know Alternanthera phila. In fact, these two are the same plant. This plant is widely distributed in China. For example, it is very common in Jiangsu, Hunan, Jiangxi and other regions. It is also often used as a traditional Chinese medicine. For example, this traditional Chinese medicine has the effect of clearing heat and cooling blood, and it also has a detoxifying effect. Therefore, revolutionary grass has the following main uses.

Nowadays, the hollow water hyacinth in China is generally wild. It likes to grow in some ponds or ditches. The hollow water hyacinth will bloom from May to November every year. If you want to use Alternanthera philoxeroides as a Chinese herbal medicine, you should choose to harvest it from October to November every year. First, remove the impurities on the Alternanthera philoxeroides, then wash it, and then dry it for later use. Alternanthera philoxeroides can also be used fresh.

The main chemical components of Alternanthera philoxeroides are triterpenoid saponins, flavonoids, 6-methoxyluteolin, phenolic components, coumarins, fats, sugars, proteins, organic acids, 7-aL-rhamnoside and chrysanthemum yellow. In traditional Chinese medicine, Alternanthera philoxeroides is considered to be a kind of Chinese herbal medicine with cold nature and bitter taste. The main functions of Alternanthera philoxeroides are clearing heat, cooling blood and detoxifying. It is generally used in the early treatment of epidemic encephalitis B, early hemorrhagic fever and measles.

Clears away heat, promotes diuresis, cools blood and detoxifies. Used for Japanese encephalitis, early stage influenza, and hemoptysis due to pulmonary tuberculosis. Used externally to treat eczema, herpes zoster, furuncle, snake bites, and epidemic hemorrhagic conjunctivitis.

Revolutionary grass has extremely strong vitality and is not afraid of drought or flooding. As long as a small piece of it is left in the field, it will grow wildly. After pigs and cows eat it, grass can also grow from the grass nodes in their feces.
