Is minimally invasive surgery for kidney stones painful?

We all know that no matter what kind of surgery it is, there will definitely be pain. Even the smallest surgery will make the patient feel pain. It is impossible to avoid it completely. After all, the human body has a strong sense of perception, and the development of modern medicine has not reached that level. Therefore, minimally invasive surgery for kidney stones should be painful, but this is divided into levels. Today I will tell you whether minimally invasive surgery for kidney stones is painful.

Minimally invasive surgery for kidney stones does cause pain symptoms, but after the anesthesia wears off, there may be some slight pain, but it will not be too obvious or last long, so there is no need to worry. It is also normal to have hematuria for a short period of time after surgery.

There is no pain during minimally invasive kidney stone surgery. Minimally invasive surgery also requires the use of anesthesia. Postoperative follow-up examinations and maintenance work must be done well. During this period, you also need to drink more water and exercise more to facilitate the complete excretion of stones.

Two or more kidney stones are called multiple kidney stones. The number, size, shape, location, and presence or absence of complications such as infection of multiple kidney stones will affect the symptoms of kidney stone attacks. The symptoms of multiple kidney stones mainly include renal colic, hematuria, pyuria, acute obstructive oliguria, anuria and chronic renal failure. Compared with kidney stones that only have one stone, the symptoms of multiple kidney stones are more obvious. Symptoms of multiple kidney stones:

⑴Chronic renal failure:

⑵Acute obstructive oliguria and anuria: In some cases, long-term stimulation from kidney stones leads to renal epithelial metaplasia and even squamous cell carcinoma, which will then present as persistent severe hematuria. Acute renal colic is often accompanied by obvious gross or microscopic hematuria. The hematuria disappears after a few days of the stone stopping moving. In a few cases where stones cause complete obstruction, there may be no hematuria. If stones are accompanied by infection, hematuria and pyuria will occur simultaneously.

⑶ Patients with solitary kidney (the contralateral kidney is absent or non-functional) or bilateral ureteral stones may cause acute obstructive oliguria or anuria. Clinical manifestations generally include pain in the renal area on the acute obstructed side, uremia, heart failure, oliguria or anuria, hypertension, hyperkalemia and severe acidosis.

⑷ Renal colic: The patient does not have obvious pain in the renal area, or even no conscious pain. The main manifestations are gastrointestinal symptoms, urinary tract infection, anemia, heart failure, abdominal mass or unexplained fever, which can easily lead to misdiagnosis.
