Heart rate calculation for patients with atrial fibrillation

Heart rate calculation for patients with atrial fibrillation

There are many patients with atrial fibrillation in life, that is, their hearts often shake, which is also very dangerous, because heart diseases cannot be underestimated, and atrial fibrillation is particularly easy to affect the patient's heart rate. In order to prevent the disease, some people will buy a heart rate measuring instrument at home to measure and prevent it in time. So how to calculate the heart rate of patients with atrial fibrillation?

How to calculate heart rate in atrial fibrillation

First: During atrial fibrillation, the frequency of atrial excitation reaches 300 to 600 beats per minute. The heart rate is often fast and irregular, sometimes reaching 100 to 160 beats per minute. It is not only much faster than a normal person's heartbeat, but also absolutely irregular, and the atria lose their effective contraction function.

Second: When typical atrial fibrillation occurs, the patient's pulse and heart rate are inconsistent, and the pulse rate is smaller than the heart rate. This phenomenon is called pulse deficiency. Atrial fibrillation can cause extremely irregular ventricular contraction, and the degree of ventricular filling before each contraction is also inconsistent, resulting in different stroke volume. Pulse refers to the pulsation caused by the blood ejected from the ventricles hitting the blood vessel walls. Therefore, different stroke volumes will also cause the pulse to be of varying strengths. Sometimes the ventricles even contract before they are sufficiently filled.

Third: The mechanism of pulse deficiency in patients with atrial fibrillation is that when a rapid ventricular rate occurs, the filling time is short, the filling is reduced, the ejection is reduced, and effective pressure transmission cannot be formed. When a patient with atrial fibrillation has a slower ventricular rate, there is more time for filling and a shortfall may not occur.

An electrocardiogram can provide a clear diagnosis of atrial fibrillation. After the diagnosis is confirmed, long-term medication is required, and radiofrequency ablation can be performed to cure it if necessary.

Note: Atrial fibrillation is generally caused by various heart diseases or poisoning, and may also cause symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations and difficulty breathing. People with atrial fibrillation must refrain from drinking alcohol, smoking, and some carbonated beverages.

Atrial fibrillation, also known as AF, refers to irregular impulses of 350-600 times per minute in the atrium, and the uncoordinated trembling of the muscle fibers in the atrium, which results in the loss of effective contraction. Most of the cases occur in patients with heart diseases such as rheumatic heart disease, coronary heart disease and hypertension. Generally speaking, there is no danger, but it cannot be cured. Drugs such as quinidine, Yangxin Tongmai pills, and compound danshen dripping pills can be used for treatment.

Atrial fibrillation reduces cardiac output by 30%, and often leads to heart failure. In chronic atrial fibrillation, mural thrombi often form in the room, and the detachment of thrombi can cause arterial embolism. Oral Chinese patent medicine Tongmai Yangxin Pills and Jiji Tonglai can be used for treatment.
